So are you are saying they lost control of an experiment into using illness as population control? (Not trying to be a dick, I usually dont have to try, but just want clarification). Sounds interesting to say the least. Truth is probably somewhere in between, but yea I think this has some nefarious tangents for sure. Now try to stop being a dick. Lol, I only asked because I trust your opinion.

Histrionics are getting strong, hopefully these stats hit major sauces and people calm down a bit. Way things are going, I was seriously considering taking a run down to the local gun shop for an extra long gun.

FWIW - While China reported 406 new cases today - only 5 were outside the Hubei province which is “ground zero” for Corona. To what extent one can trust numbers - who knows - but their authoritarian quarantine abilities seem to have an effect.
The real challenge may be when this virus ends up in a real ‘shithole’ country with a bad health system and ineffective internal controls.

I fear stupid people panicking more than I fear the virus. Agree - panic must more contagious than Covid. I heard scuttlebutt - though not reported anywhere - that local Iranians were blaming a religious school in Qom as the source of the outbreak - noting that the school (or city?) has some 700 Chinese muslim scholars visiting.

The Wuhan lab was specifically working with coronaviruses. Wuhan lab scientists have published several recent scientific papers dealing with coronavirus manipulation. How this thing got out could be much more prosaic: employees from the lab had been caught (and fined/sentenced) previously - apparently over the years - for selling the lab animals to food markets. The outbreak in Italy has now been tied to Chinese tourists - fwiw.

yeah selling lab animals and not destroying them is really FUBAR. But combining SARS and Corona - were they weaponizing this?

I heard on the radio last night that Hyundai is suspending production and Kia is going to soon. They can't get parts from China.

But combining SARS and Corona - were they weaponizing this? There are legitimate reasons to research I suppose - with the idea that coronaviruses in general are a likely pandemic pathway. So its worthwhile to get our head around how they mutate and work. One of the two likely vaccines for covid-19 was actually developed to treat SARS. SARS was like 2003? It went dormant very quickly so the vaccine from Baylor University did not get produced - but it is indicative that they worked on it - it took them until 2016 to finish. It was likely so slow because it was non-commerical, but that work and research will pay off now.

Now you can't leave your house for any reason in Wuhan.
