The world will have huge supply chain issues on almost everything we use.

The world will have huge supply chain issues on almost everything we use. Yet another reason to end all this off shore bullshit and keep the jobs here.

Imagine what it would do to American companies if this hit India. Call centers from IT support to credit card support would be shut down. They share a border. It could happen.

It might even scare a certain demographic into supporting home grown American manufacturing again. If people are not frightened by the prospect of not being able to get everyday products at this point in time, they are not, nor have been, paying attention. This could get bad for a while., They are talking at least a year and possibly into 2022 before things are "normal" again.

We shouldnt be letting anyone who has been to China in the past year to come into the country. If you are an American citzen you should be sent to a quarantine. Fuck the 2 weeks thing we are doing. Its not enough.
I hate to say it but this is the best thing that could have happened to the rest of the world. China is a behemoth we are all dependent on. A weaker Chinese government is better for all of us.

They have no environmental standards in China and the cargo ships produce a ton of emissions. It frustrates me that the MAGA movement hasnt tried to sell this point. Also, having robust manufacturing on the ready is a national defense issue as well. Same for farmers. If shit hits the fan and we are cut off from the world we need to be able to make stuff and eat.

Now they are quarantining employees for two weeks. If china can't get their factories running after that shortages will start showing up on American retailers. Companies with smaller inventory levels are probably already fucked.

Some people have been sounding the alarm on losing the steel industry and no one listened. Maybe this will make them wake up.
