That just made the watch list! 40+ years ago my grandfather, who had Alzheimers was living with my uncle and his wife. They just has premature twin girls and my sister and I went out to LI to help them out. I sit down for breakfast and my aunt serves me and my grandfather eggs toast and some fruit. My grandfather looks like he's having trouble eating but I dont give it much thought. Two seconds later my uncle comes in and says "Honey have you seen my dentures?". My grandfather had put his teeth in, then forgot he put his teeth in and then he put my uncles in too. Then he sat down and started eating but couldn't swallow because he had a mouth full of teeth. So he had a mouth full of teeth, eggs, and toast. I think a part of him realized what happened because he looked like he had a shit eating grin on his face too. Man, we laughed so hard we cried that day. Alzheimers is a terrible disease but it did have its moments. |
