Anyone else watching?
Pretty good so far. Man the Pistons were bad ass at the time. Also really interesting to see how Jackson was able to manage a motley crew of personalities.
Big L => google it motherfucker

I'm really enjoying it. Big ride down memory lane and lots of details on stuff I had no idea about (not being a Bulls fan). Thought I would end up hating Mike but so far am really impressed by him. He can be a funny muther-fucker telling a story (the Rodman Vegas vacation). Never really saw that side of him. One of my favorite moments so far is when Rodman is complaining to a ref about getting fouled; The ref stares at him then says "There's alot of things I dont see...most of the time though..I see the shit YOU do". The look on Rodmans face walking away is priceless. I think the GM is a huge dick, but being scapegoated by the owner for alot because he is not here to defend himself. Fucking owner makes himself sound like a mere bystander and blameless. Please. Many of these "nice" owners hire scumbags to deflect heat away from them and do their hatchet work. Really curious how they will handle the gambling end of Mike.

How he was able to step up when Pippen was missing, understanding his role. I thinks it's cool to see Jordan as just a dude with his cigar and glass of whiskey telling stories...I do think when you get to that level of talent and ultra competitiveness, you come off as a dick to regular joes like us. I honestly don't know what to think of Pippen.

when detroit was badass that was the beginning of a great era of basketball. them, then the bulls, the ewing/oakley knicks, reggie miller pacers... i was never into bball before then, and haven't cared about it at all since the day ewing retired... but for that decade or so, watching playoff basketball was about as good as sports got.
basketball sucks donkey balls now, and has for 20+ years

I don't think ESPN is advertising this enough.

Besides the gambling, I want to see how they handle the murder of Mikes father. Was there a gambling connection? No doubt Jordan had a gambling issue. He would regularly go to Vegas or AC and drop hundreds of thousands of dollars. Apparently this extended to the golf course and card games as well.

I read that Jordan has a sort of production company which is involved in the show. So I’d be surprised if he’s portrayed in any negative way..

I've read around a bit on the murder and my gut tells me the murderers were way to sloppy (and local) to have been hit men of any consequence, though the thought crossed my mind.

That was a fun short era...took Sopne to his first Knicks game during that period and it was a blast being at the Garden. The way Lin left though turned us both off to the Knicks and we drifted away. Ive tried in recent years to summon interest ( despite asshole Dolan) but meh..

It’s funny you guys say that - the era Shakin mentions and the era you mention are the two times I really followed the Knicks as well. Been a whole lot of suckitude between and after.

speaking of sports docs, I highly recommend the one on Netflix named Senna, about the F1 driver from late 80s early 90s, really well done, and interesting.

Lots of surprise being bandied about that Jordan didn't use any of his control to edit some of the stuff in the next episode (about him hitting Kerr). I'm sure part of it is to drum up buzz, but I watched the clip and my takeaway is this; Jordan is a raging alcoholic with cirrhosis, doesn't care about what's broadcast as long as people are talking about him (which they haven't for seemingly ever). I really think the reason he isn't more high-profile considering he's MICHAEL FUCKING JORDAN is because he is impossible to work with/endorse. Just a theory.

The personality characteristics that make him the goat also make him a huge pos. Like 99.999999 percentile competitiveness. I don’t think you want to live with that person.
