If you’ve already made big money, why the fuck wouldn’t you take a year off, given the chance? This season, even if played, will be a cluster fuck. Agreed. especially if you recently signed a new deal, nothing to play for, so sit back and count the money

I think many are at the point where they dont give a fuck anymore. Lets live life. A positive test waaaaaaay more often than not..doesnt even turn into a symtomatic sickness. Especially in the age group that populates the NFL/MLB etc. It's the reactions to the positive tests that is nuts. People wanted testing....yelled at Trump about it. Now they have it. Of course the numbers will go up. Jeez. There are smart people saying this virus may have been in the U.S. since a year ago...and that the antibody and positive tests dont really reflect how this has effected our herd immunity and how humanity responds to these things. Jetworks is waaaaay smarter about this stuff than we. Like to see him check in. I think the basic problem is no one can say anything definitive on all this shit. Players are family guys too. Basic instinct is to protect your family. I don’t blame anyone opting out.

Jetworks is waaaaay smarter about this stuff than we. Like to see him check in. A few other points, too. There is evidence that shows up to 60% of people have T-cell reactivity to Covid-19, without ever having been exposed. This means that years ago (SARS), plenty of people who had some sort of exposure subsequently saw their immune system develop a way to combat a virus like C19. Testing was never the whole story. Nor was a vaccine, antibodies, or masks. It comes down to a systemic response, the most important being how our innate immune system is able to cope with this latest insult. Now we kn ow, but hey wear your damn mask Secondly, the NFL has had to deal with a far more contagious, difficult to fight, and statistically more dangerous bug in the past; MRSA. Didn't see any opt-outs or bubbles back then. What changed? This is about the owners covering their own asses. They are deathly afraid of a player getting real sick but by offering opt outs they can keep their hands clean. Merely by offering an opt out it elevates the risk in people’s minds.

This may sound harsh but giving players the option to opt out of working doesn't set right with me. No one is giving the average working guy an opt out. They of course could choose not to show up but then they lose their job and can't meet their obligations. I know I'm simplifying a complicated situation and as much as people enjoy the NFL it isn't critical. I'd say either shut it down because of concerns or gentlemen, we're playing, be there.

Nate Solder, OT, New York Giants In a statement posted to Twitter, the 32-year-old Solder cited family concerns, including his son's battle with cancer and his own bout with cancer. He also has a newborn son. He said he "will deeply miss my teammates, coaches and everyone in the Giants organization." Solder, who won two Super Bowls with the Patriots, signed a four-year, $62 million contract with the New York Giants with $35 million guaranteed in March 2018. At the time, it made him the highest-paid offensive lineman in the league at the time.

It is a league decision. My company said that even when we are allowed back into the office that we shouldn't feel pressured to come back right away if we are concerned as long as we are getting our work done at home. Add in that it is a contact sport and I understand their stance. They get a pittance compared with their regular salaries and it is a personal choice. I am fine with it.

Waiting for the Adams opt-out. Especially if he can still get an accrued season.
Will make the deal even sweeter.

You can bet guys like Tom Brady and Gronk aren't opting out. Those guys don't need the money or the celebrity but they're playing. Goodell needs to man up and say either the NFL is playing or the season is delayed/cancelled or abbreviated. It could all hindge on if a vaccine is developed toward the end of the year. I get some people can work from home and a I know a few who are doing so. The NFL is a special case is MLB, NHL and NBA as well as the NCAA. I just think the country can't continue on the current course of paying people not to work and stealing from future generations.

Could be worse. The teams are paying them, it isn't like it is coming from tax payers.
