so out of our large group of saratoga friends, two different couples went through the unimaginable horror of their teen kids committing suicide one of those couples set up a foundation, james's warriors, to try to do something to prevent other families from having to go through that me and mrs. shakin are participating in a walk/fundraiser in september with james's warriors for the american foundation for suicide prevention recent studies show that this covid shutdown bullshit has a ton of kids thinking about suicide, insanely fucked up side effect of this nonsense me and wifey pledged to raise $500, we're tossing in shekels of our own, if you feel like tossing in a few bucks to get me off my ass and walking, here's the LINK
thanks ps tax deductible EDIT: i'm a total lout for overlooking our own PK horror story in my above post. RIP my crazy bastard friend.

The only solution is to be an involved parent and do everything you can to really know who your kids are, what their dreams and fears are and who their friends are while also trying not to be a helicopter parent so that they can make their own mistakes and live their own lives. It is a tightrope walk as a parent. Kids have so many influences we never had to deal with not to mention instant, possibly public rejection in the palms of their hands.

I dropped a few sheckles for you. My Daughter had a friend who did this right after HS. She had moved away a few years before. Permanent solution to a temporary problem. Terrible shame.

I was trying to say you can try to do everything right but there are so many influences you never know.
