So NASA is going to crash a spacecraft into an asteroid the size of a football stadium to see if they can change its trajectory. It's gonna hit in about 45 minutes and the Discovery channel is carrying it live.

So the "spaceship" is the size of a golf cart ind it's traveling at 6km a second. It's about 7 million miles from earth and the pictures will take about 40 seconds to get to earth.

So right before impact you saw some really clear pics of the asteroid before the feed went out. These nerds needed to strap a go pro on and eject it right before impact so we could see the impact. Pretty underwhelming.

Seems dum comn Seems like we just coulda catapulted Andy DuFresne from Shawshank Redemption up there with his rock pick and saved a bundle. I was gonna go with Bruce Willis but I hear he's a veg now.

Pretty underwhelming. A mini satellite followed a few minutes behind to take photos of the impact. The Italian Cubesat was released from Dart two weeks ago.
