Watched it last night. Hes honest about himself and his shortcomings. Given his lifestyle and mindset it's mind blowing the Browns drafted him to be the face of the franchise. |

Just got done watching season 1 of The Wire. It was good but I've been reading for years it was better than the Sopranos and Game of Thrones. I don't see it. Is it just me?

It aged badly IMO and I think some of the acting is not very good in season 1. I fucking loved it. One season (it may be the second) involved the dockers union which I found not as good as the others. I would suggest persevering but if you didn't find characters like Omar awesome chances are you won't like the rest. |

Medal of Honor on Netflix
8 episodes on soldiers who have earned the medal. Told by historians and first hand accounts. I'm a sucker for these things, but I'm sure some of you will like it.

Went to a Medal of Honor museum in Chattanooga TN a couple months ago. Never heard of the first ones about stealing a train during the civil war until then. Crazy stuff….all these guys. Each one as humble as anyone. None of them thinking what they did was extraordinary. Will check out the Netflix bit. Thanks for the point out. |

Crazy story of a guy who held a hill alone during the Korean war, running (under fire) from one post to the next so the Koreans wouldn't know he was alone, killing over 200 enemies. If they knew he was alone, they would just have stormed the mountain and it was over. Very moving to see the impact they've left on fellow soldiers and their families even generations later. Room got dusty.. |

Just wrapped up Silo, thought they did a good job for the most part. I'd have to go back and read the books to see how much the deviated from them.
Also just watched Dune. I thought it was excellent IMO, but I never finished the books, so...

Most recent Dune was awesome and so much truer to the book than David Lynch's '80's version, which was cool, but too different. I've read the first Dune book three times. |

I've read the first Dune book three times. Yes, I think the overall look and feel they created is very good. They completely skip over the prelude in "Wool", so it will be interesting if they address that at some point. |

It grew on me as it went along and the ending/cliffhanger was good. It deviates somewhat from the books but is mostly accurate.
