The portions who are refusing are doing so as they don't trust what they are being told because 1) they aren't being told everything, and 2) they MAY not fully understand. BUT, if you tell them, 'hey, there's a good chance that if you had this shit already, you're likely protected, and by extension, able to protect those you come in contact with, so do you.' Instead, we have the WH talking about how it's going to be likely necessary to go door to door to 'encourage' vaccinations. So, how about now? While I appreciate your analogy, it's not remotely apropos. It's a well-established tech with decades of use, the companies responsible for manufacturing it do not enjoy a liability-free profile, and your use or lack thereof is a null-result wherein your health is involved. In the case of the Covied vaccines, you are trusting that the minimal science available 1) confers protection and 2) will not result in harm. Also, you are placing trust in both a profit-motivated oligopoly that enjoys a liability-free profile, despite previous egregious violations of public trust wherein safety data and coverups are concerned, coupled with a Government program that is more draconian than the injury recourse offered for typical vaccine injuries. That's pretty faith-based. Or ideological. Like, maybe even cultish. If you need more practical examples, I recommend looking at Twitter handles. The more dedicated among them have ones that read 'TomBob_11534 Fully Vaccinated he/him.'

I'll make this even easier; if you believe that the vaccine is effective, you MUST believe that those who have had Covid-19 are more than likely immune to future infection and cannot infect others.

If you don't accept that, you're either a science-denier and/or motivated by some other ideology.

I can accept "more than likely". BUT I also believe those who got really sick from Covid-19 may have some serious long term health issues down the line.

IMHO I'd MUCH rather prevent it in the first place with a vaccine. If you feel you'ld rather get it, hoping for a mild case then we can disagree on that. (I'm also on the plus side of 60 with other complications.)
