Either one of three things are happening. 1) The engine is starving for gas at a wide open throttle or 2) the engine is starving for air at a wide open throttle pr 3) both. My bet is that the engine is not equipped with a carb able to handle the air/gas combo at wide open throttle and shits the bed when asked to. You might see if a third party carb vendor has a unit that would bolt on to that particular engine. Try google-ing the engine model and see what you can dig up.
With the correct carb/engine combo you should be able to throttle that engine to self destruction.
BTW, my condolences-in-advance to your family and friends. You will go out a hampur legend though, so there's that.

My bet would be that either your carburetor is dirty probably due to a sticking float or isn't large enough to manage the load you are putting on it. Take it apart and clean it or replace it and I bet you will be maintaining high enough speeds to cause major injury. Yeah - I had a dirt bike I tired to mod. You need a proper-sized carburetor to keep the air/gas mix balanced for the cylinder. I have no idea how to fix your problem, but I had similar ones.

Probably not getting enough air to keep up... if it only happens at full throttle I'd guess it's a lack of air, not fuel... but definitely in your air/fuel mixture. Sounds fun! Got pics?

Where do you drive this go kart? Why do you want to know? Who are you, my wife? So when we give you hampur answers it's all "buncha pansies around here, where are the real men" and when you get serious answers you ignore them.

Was that not enough for you? No. I was expecting in depth conversations on admissable air rates in carburators, with flow charts and the works.

Any of you jokers gear heads? know anything about small gas engines? I have a stock go kart. Top speed full throttle was a quite slow ‘meh’ with little chance of injury. I removed the gas pedal limit bolt for full range. Also adjusted the throttle set screw on the engine to almost max that out. Additionally got bigger diameter tires for the drive wheels. Now she goes pretty fast at full throttle. No suspension on this thing so she bounces pretty good when you hit a bump in the road, especially at full speed. Injury potential much higher now. the problem is - at full throttle, the engine only revs that high for a few seconds, then revs down by itself even with the gas pedal down full. Then after a few seconds, it will rev back up to full rpms. Then revs down again, etc. any ideas? I think it’s a problem with the engine governor, and I need to adjust that. Check the air filter and gas filter. Make sure you're using fresh gas too.
