Whoops!!! Good catch, I meant JN. Victim blaming is excusing those at fault, which you did. You also said something about not riding on the road and sticking to paths, which is also victim-blaming. Stop lying. I was talking to another JN poster who was crying how dangerous it is for HIM riding his bike on the road next to speeding tons of Medal trucks when he goes for bike rides (his words, not mine). I explained to him how Florida is the most dangerous for bikers in all of USA so therefore me, my wife and 10 year old daughter doesn't bike ride on busy roads in Florida but instead we bike ride at different nature trails and different parks this way we're not in danger of heavy trucks and deadly vehicles. I never once blamed coach Knapp I simply stated that accidents happen, we've all been distracted driving before and to use this as a lesson to be thankful that none of this ever happened to US. I also said a prayer for the driver (a kid a freaking teenager) because this is eating him/her alive and he/she did not mean to take a man's life and it's something he'll/she'll have to live with forever. And I'm not willing to send a teenager to HELL for it because no drugs or alcohol was found in system. And please quote me where I "blamed" coach Knapp. You can't. Because you're a liar. The conversation I had with the Jets fan had nothing to do with coach Knapp and had everything to do with him being PETRIFIED of bike riding on a busy Road with reckless drivers so my best advice to hopefully save his life is to do what me and my wife and daughter do over the weekends and that's to find NATURE TRAILS AND PARKS TO BIKE RIDE @ because he was acting and pretending how the only way to "bike ride" is by putting his life in danger; which is false. He chooses that path of bike riding like an Idiot. I was talking to a fellow Jets fan about HIS bike riding situation and never ONCE blamed coach Knapp because my heart goes out to him and his family but never once did I blame coach Knapp you big little LIAR you. You're from Florida, so that jives. And I pointed that out to you, too. I even quoted you before you had a chance to edit in that part about FLA being horrible for cyclists. So maybe you're the one lying here, considering you don't even realize who you have been answering? Victim blaming, so you understand, is giving someone a pass on doing something wrong because you feel what the other person did (the victim) was something they could have prevented. Ever see the movie "The Accused?" Same premise. So you stating that "everyone makes mistakes, has driven distracted before" is victim blaming, because the inverse is Coach Knapp, or myself, somehow could've prevented it by riding somewhere else. At best I can concede can/should point, but again, it's still my right to ride on the road. If I blow through a light and hit someone crossing the street, or even some just standing there, that's on me and I'm a "reckless cyclist." But hit me with your 4500 pound car because you're looking at your phone, or just feel the need to pass me RIGHT NOW, you feel bad for the driver. That's shitty. |

"Me my daughter and my wife go bike riding every Saturday and Sunday morning but we bike ride @ different nature trails and big parks. I live in Florida and therefore you will never catch my wife, my daughter or myself riding our bikes (for exercise) on main roads (or roads in general) because we're not IDIOTS. We live in Florida (and we're well aware of the dangers) so therefore we ride our bikes in big parks and nature trails. Why? Because we're not IDIOTS. You should try it.
