Le wtf? France have only two goals so far, an own goal and a penalty. What's going on there? Last game they were impatient in front of goal and just needed to make one additional pass and likely would've had multiple goals. Unable to watch in full today, so wtf is up?

The knockout round bracket is totally lopsided: Germany, France, Portugal , Spain all on the same side. Spain/germany and France/Portugal should meet already in the 1/4's.. then the winners meet in the semis...Could be a surprise team in the final on the other side of the bracket, like Switzerland. If England get their shit together, they'll never have an easier path.

I'll enjoy the Mexican tears tonight before the US is eliminated tomorrow.
I can't bring myself to completely hate that outcome cause then they will have no choice but to fire Berhalter

I can't bring myself to completely hate that outcome cause then they will have no choice but to fire Berhalter Dunno if Berhalter is all to blame. I’m not a big fan but they should have dropped a half dozen on Bolivia and that dumbass red card in the opening minutes is the second fuckup by one of the chosen young guns that was just inexplicable. The inability to finish scoring opportunities is not new and maddening. If that’s on Bethaltet then so be it. These guys getting dumb red cards makes me question if they really want to be there in the first place. |

That red card is inexcusable and genuinely put the US in jeopardy of not advancing. That being said, everything goes back to the coach. Given the familiar opponent, it should've been repeated ad nauseum that they would try tactics like they did; low block, fouling, doing anything they can to rile up the US. Having the team ill-prepared to deal with that is 100% on the coach |
