Its him or one of our UDFAs. I think it's the dichotomy between his tough guy persona and zero production that eats at me. He seems to have become our whipping boy for the defensive lines woes. He is a 4th round pick who has been solid on STs and slow to develop at his main position after completely altering his body at the behest of the regime. If not for the Jets social media teams and our beat reporters hyping up his "scariness" he would be viewed as an over-achiever. We need a big fatty that can play next to Quinnen at DT. And we need Quinnen to start beating the double teams like Dexter Lawrence, Chris Jones, etc. McDonald had some decent rushes but for the most part Darnold was able to stare at Jefferson for 5 seconds on every pass. Sauce needs to catch INTs when they are thrown at him. Our WRs need to catch balls that hit them in their hands. Our OL needs to not let our 40 yo QB get hit 20 times. And our coaching staff needs to find a way to just be below average rather than awful. |

It's becoming clear the difference in coaching talent on both sides of the ball. On D we've developed guys into solid contributors (Adams, Eichols, Williams, Sherwood, Carter III..). On O we have guys contributing who were already diamonds coming into the NFL (Wilson, Breece..). Not 1 guy has been developed, Ruckert is a prime example. |
