my older sopne is friends with short-lived Islander Dennis Seidenberg's sopne. They live in my town. Picked up my sopne from their house yesterday afternoon and asked Dennis what he thought of the Isles chances and he tried to not roll his eyes. Funny story - Dennis hosts rookies at his house for a big part of their first year. A few years back, another dad went to pick up his kid at their house. Rang the bell, knocked, no answer so he went in. Found his kid, Seidenberg's kid and a grown man in the basement playing a Grand Theft Auto game on Xbox. The dad introduced himself and the man said "Hi, I'm Mat. A friend of Dennis." This dad had no friggin idea who this grown man with his sopne was and no Seidenbergs were home. So he asked, as every father should, "Who are you?" and the man replied "Mat Barzal, nice to meet you. I'm on the Islanders." Man, GC seems to be washed-up athlete central. Great story. |
