When is he going? Trying going North instead of the city. Hit the Green mountains or the Adirondacks. He could always keep going to Montreal (so he could practice his French?) Really just matters what he wants to get out of his trip (besides some poontang). Lots to offer. If its this fall, he could take the Metro North from Tarrytown to Yankee stadium for a game. About 45 min ride, under 20 bucks each way, and pretty safe as there are cawps and other fans all over the place. Safer than Manhattan, imho. He's leaving Sunday for 3 weeks. There's no way he's not going to Manhattan, he definitely wants to go. I know he wants to shop buy jeans/t shirts/sneakers..etc. And will prolly eat all day: smashburgers/Tacos/NY Pizza..etc Make sure he knows everything is cheaper outside of Manhattan.

Tell him to swing by the Bronx.
Seriously though I don’t know if fentanyl is a big problem in France, but they’re putting it in every drug over here and kids are dying. I would talk to him about that before he leaves. I hope he has a great time.

And plenty of shopping around Tarrytown. I can understand him wanting to see Manhattan, but it would suck if he wasted money buying clothes there when he can get it cheaper close to where he is staying. As far as Pizza, have him download the One bite App (if he hasnt already). That'll give him a great selection of must visit Pizza shops.

He asked this year to do a semester abroad (he's 16), which I found really ballsy. It cost a fortune plus his school wouldn't let him miss class. Anyways, we fell back on a language program: English classes in the morning then organized stuff the afternoon, and Weekends off. He'll be on a sort of campus in Tarrytown with all sorts of facilities: pool, basketball courts, gym...etc. He'll be with tons of other kids his age. From what I see it's roughly 45 min to Grand Central. Any advice besides the hand wringing "good luck in the cesspool NY has become". I get it, but I'm sure he'll be fine. Cool things to do, things to avoid,... I asked him if he wanted to see the Jets, he said no. Smart boy. tarrytown is fine, nice suburban area in lower "upstate NY," hudson valley. no reason for him to deal with NYC lots of illegals in tarrytown?...
