What’s your take on this?
I’m like 99.99999999% this is fixed for them to dance around with that other guy winning a split decision and Tyson being paid well.
Then a rematch.
Does anyone think this is legit?

I'm hoping Tyson is at least 50% of his old self to sends this dude into the next dimension.
You could be right about it being fixed. The Mayweather/McGregor fight was a joke. Hopefully Tyson loses his shit and destroys him

I wouldnt be surprised if it was fixed. I will say though, watching Tyson in his prime (before the Buster Douglass debacle) was incredible. Really one of the most intimidating and ferocious dudes in the ring ever. You could see the fear in his opponents eyes before the fight started. For old times sake, I hope its on the level and he kicks Pauls arse. He certainly looks ready, but age robs everyone...what time is the fight on in Jacksonville?

Mike Tyson’s special bit he did on HBO was tremendous.
Referred to Robin Givens as a cold fart. Lolz.
Got to see him live when he was a teenager still on the Jr Olympic team I believe. Many (including my 10-12 year old self) never heard of him. I was like 5 rows from the ring. He fought some older fat dude. I made the mistake of not paying attention the first 20 seconds of the fight. All I remember hearing was a gasp from the crowd, looking back to the ring in time to see the fat dude sitting down on the mat and the white towel flying up in the air from his corner.
As we’re leaving my pops said, “keep an eye on that guy. He might be going places.”
Good times.

I think his career/life would have taken a whole different trajectory had Cus D'Amato still been alive when he when became Champ and after. Saw a great vid yesterday of Tyson giving a on older fan an autograph. The guy leans in smiling and tells him "You robbed me in Brownsville" (and names the street). Tyson is briefly taken aback because it clearly really happened but the guy laughs it off as Tyson apologizes. I used to see Tyson and Mitch Blood Green up around W125st when "Showtime at the Apollo" was still a big thing. They eventually famously brawled in the street up there. Mitch by then was an Angel Dust addict and half the man he was in his prime. Sad to see.

Does anyone think this is legit? Tyson always liked hurting people. I don't think that's changed. I think (and hope) we'll get PTSD-flashback, gooks-in-the-wire Tyson, and that he'll decapitate that hillbilly.

Most sporting events that happened at 2AM local time would get the VCR. Not Mike. I'd sneak wake up and go down and watch the ultra violence live. I remember Spinks' face was "wtf am I doing here".

I had watched every Tyson fight up until Buster Douglas. If I remember his fights were like 50 bucks on pay-per-view and I got tired of paying to watch him knock guys out in one minute. HBO would usually carry them two weeks after the fight had been broadcast. I was hanging out with two guys from work and left to go home because I had to get up the next day for work. While I was waiting for the window to defrost the radio said that Tyson had been knocked out. I couldn’t fucking believe it. I ran back into the guys house to tell them that Tyson had lost and they wouldn’t believe it. Then when you saw the fight, you were like holy shit Douglas beat his ass

Then when you saw the fight, you were like holy shit Douglas beat his ass Douglas fought a great fight -- his jab looked like it was connected to Tyson's head by a string.
