Clemmings is going to get his QB killed. He can't pass block for shit and needs to sit for at least a year. It sucks, but that kid lost millions by deciding to play in this game. Anyone remember such a highly ranked prospect totally bomb? I can't think of any off the top of my head. Damn that's super disappointing to hear. I was hoping he would get better as the week went along. I didn't get a chance to watch any of it today. I watched his one game tape awhile back and liked what I saw. WTF happened? He barely belongs here the way he has been playing this entire week.

That game tape was some of the best I've seen from an lineman. Maybe the aliens from Space Jam needed talent again? I expected him to be raw and have a few bumps a long the way, but it's like he completely forgot how to play the game.

What a sorry collection of QBs in this game. Was hoping to see more out of Petty, but he looked like an inaccurate, one read QB. Sims was probably the best guy out there, but I didn't see anyone even worth taking a late round flyer on.

Anyone remember such a highly ranked prospect totally bomb? I can't think of any off the top of my head. Bruce Campbell was expected to be a top pick. I forget if we went to the Senior Bowl, but by draft time he fell to the 4th round. He even played for us for a little. This summary is eerily similar to Clemmings. Weaknesses: Inexperienced - only 17 career starts Too upright in pass protection Natural knee bender? Plays with narrow base Legit durability concerns Summary: Consider Bruce Campbell the Jason Smith of the 2010 NFL Draft class. His stock will be soaring through the roof once we get to the Combine, however, he is more of a natural pass protector than Smith. With more experience, he could become a Pro Bowl left tackle at the next level. Of course, you have to consider his long list of injuries, but he'll likely be taken in the top 16 picks. Player Comparison: Branden Albert. Albert and Campbell have great physical tools, but I think Campbell is more of a natural left tackle. Both were raw offensive tackle prospects. walterfootball.com/scoutingreport2010bcampbell.php

That Tajh Boyd pick last year just keeps looking worse and worse. We really could have used a guy like Murray, Savage or Mettenberger, I would take any of those guys well before anyone we saw today.

One thing I can't get through my thick skull is how talent evaluators can be so wrong about someone with all of their resources this late in the process. I understand and expect that players are going too rise and fall....and more often then not, they rise because of these games. But damn. I wouldn't even draft him at this point. Let me know what you think of Donovan Smith....or anyone for that matter? I didn't even know who he was on Monday, but I like him. I see some holes in his game at this stage and that is to be expected. He will lose his base by lunging forward but recovers well, needs some time to grow and gain strength. But IMO he has tremendous upside and could play immediately as a rookie.

watched the first 3 quarters last night before i passed out. Still haven't been able to watch practices but i think i caught a lot of the hightlights.
What i saw in those 3 quarters?; Some strong play from the skill positions - RBs, WRs and DBs.
--David Johnson infatuation escalated. He again showed me the wiggle that i feel is vastly underrated in his game. People keep saying he ought to maybe flex out in the NFL, but i see no reason why he can't start somewhere behind the line, both at RB and H-back. Cobb, Abdullah both looked sexy in their vision and burst. Looked very natural moving around blocks, fighting for extra yards etc. There's going to be some great opportunities to get quality players in rnds 3-4. Can't see us hanging on Harvin at 10mil right now.
--Corners played well. I liked what i saw from White, Nelson, and Shaw. Not perfect but there's promise of being able to stay on your assignment and be opportunistic. Rollins would have send his stock soaring had he caught that INT. He's gaining a ton of momentum.
--Tomlinson and Smith played well as advertised for the most part. Dunno who that LSU guard was, but he some nice blocks out there in space too. Didn't get a chance to pay close attention to the line war overall though. The usual suspects on D looked like how they'd be practicing all week.
--A couple WRs caught my attention, including the Baylor kid Goodley, Hall from CF and Coates (who've I've been very hard on). Unsurprisingly I didn;t notice Montegomery who'll be nothing but a role player IMO. Disappointing to see Hardy largely quiet but i guess that's a good thing to keep his stock where we might have a chance at him after rnd 2.
--QBs stunk it up, I thought. Could have been shrine-game worse, but nobody looked worth writing home about. Grayson and Bennett to me are the only ones that showed me something worth developing. Give those two a couple years working as 3rd stringer and maybe soemthing comes out of it. 5th for Grayson, and UDFA for Bennett. Mannion's limited and innacurate and Petty just looks like he'll regress when pressed into action.
Ima go watch the 4th quarter.

Let me know what you think of Donovan Smith....or anyone for that matter? Will do. I'm a little bit behind right now since I've been so busy. One guy that I like who I think will rise is Chris Hackett, S TCU. I'm sure you've seen me mention him before. I need to find more game tape on him, but in a weak safety class he looks like one of the best. I might end up ranking him right behind Cody Prewitt.

well Rollins isn't going to be a secret amongst draftniks for much longer...
Any honestly, who did you guys like the most at tailback in that game? Probably a case to be made that Abdullah and Cobb looked like the best pure breds. I personally like David because of his versatility but I'd like to hear what the rest of you thought. Cobb would get the nod for me if we were in the market for complete make over but Ivory and Johnson would be orgasmic IMO

I'm still not sure about DJ, not sure about his running style in the NFL. I still prefer Buck Allen, he is the same size as DJ but runs a littler lower and has great hands as well.
