Ragu, no matter how much people placate you, the majority of folks don't want to pay for message boards, especially those who have no connection to the old Hampur. No matter how great they may be.
Why not try to get financial support from alternative sources like porn sites or the communist party (just joking here). Seriously, asking people to pay will eventually fail.
