It's very early in the process, but who are some of the players you would hate to see the jets draft with the 6th overall pick? We did this last year and there were some great responses and most were eerily accurate.
I'll go on record with Randy Gregory. He is a glorified Maybin with a slower motor....no thanks.

Agreed on Gregory. I'd also like to add TJ Yeldon, Landon Collins, Gerod Holliman, Brandon Scherff as an OT, but don't mind him as a guard, Marcus Mariota, and Sammie Coates unless he drops a lot. In fact a lot of the players whose game tape I've posted so far haha.

Corners. At least not high in the draft -- Trae Waynes, Marcus Peters, Ekpre Olomu -- stay away from all 3. If we can get a guy like Steven Nelson, Ladarius Gunter or Kevin White in the middle rounds -- OK, But none of the top prospects -- Peters is a head case, Waynes is not physical enough, and Ekpre-Olomu is too small to play outside in today's NFL. We need experience at corner -- CBs should be addressed in free agency, not the draft this year.

It's all film work and the combine ahead......I don't pay much attention to pro days. Sammie Coates scares the shit out of me and I wouldn't consider until at least the third.

That's exactly when I'd start to consider Coates, but unless we signed Dez Bryant or Demaryius Thomas we better have drafted a WR in round 1 or 2.

Couldn't agree more and I don't see both Dez and Demaryious shaking free....let alone our ability to land them regardless of money. It's another strong WR draft at the top, lets hope Mac nabs one in the first two frames.

We need a young, cheap guy through the draft. CB, LB, OL can be addressed in free agency. WR in the draft. But no to Ty Montgomery -- another guy on my do not draft list.

Showing up to the Senior Bowl at 5'11 and not 6'1/6'2 was big too. Kind of like that bum we took in the first round last year.

Oooh! this is my new favorite. I'll throwing a few names around when i get time. I agree with Randy Gregory, but also because i think he's going to be injury prone as well.
Hollywood - interesting choice with Yeldon... why? just don't see him flash enough?
Lith - why did you earmark Peters and Ifo? If the latter is there in rnd 4, you don't think he's worth it? What about Peters?

Hollywood - interesting choice with Yeldon... why? just don't see him flash enough? Yeah I don't really see him flash. I don't think he hits the hole hard enough either. He tap dances a lot, and just looks awkward to me. I know Lithfan wants to stay away from Peters and I completely understand why, but I'd have a hard time passing him up in the 3rd round. This is a deepish draft so I probably wouldn't, but if he makes it to round 4 I think I'd definitely have to risk it at that point.

Lith - why did you earmark Peters and Ifo? If the latter is there in rnd 4, you don't think he's worth it? What about Peters? Rally a combination of factors -- first regardless of the player is the state of the position on our roster. We have plenty of young unproven guys at teh CB position -- Milliner, McDougle, Williams -- even add guys like Adams and Walls to the list. We need veteran CBs -- not more young guys to add to the mix. As to Peters and Ifo. Peters is by far teh most talented and NFL ready corner in this draft in my opinion. However, his head is what worries me -- is he coachable, will he be a good teammate. Being kicked off of his team at UW is a huge red flag. Unless he aces his interviews, I would rather stay away. As to Ifo -- I think he projects as a nickel back based upon his size. If he drops and we can get him in the middle rounds, I would not have a problem with that. My comment above was to avoid corners high in the draft. We need to get younger at other positions -- WR, RB, LB, OL. Go get two experienced corners in FA and avoid them early in the draft. Just my opinion.

Gregory scares the hell out of me for some reason.

If we are going to take a pass rusher in the first, I would much rather take Shane Ray than Gregory. I think Ray is a more complete player -- I have seen him completely take over a couple of games for Mizzou from the defensive side of the ball. In fairness, I have not seen nearly as much of Gregory as I have of Ray, but he was underwhelming the couple of games I have watched. I will have to see if my opinion changes when I watch some tape of him.

As far as the #6 pick goes I think you can approach it this way. On offense I think you can eliminate certain positions. I don't think there is an O lineman worth drafting at 6 right now, nor is there a TE or RB, that leaves QB and WR. On defense I think you can eliminate a DT, ILB, Safety and Corner, that leaves DE/OLB as the lone defensive position worth drafting at 6.
So essentially it comes down to QB, WR and DE/OLB. My mini big board at 6 would be Winston, Ray, Parker, one of if not two of those players should be there at 6.
