Morning Jets fans... On this date in 1997 the Jets hired Bill Parcells longtime assistant coach Bill Belidick as HC and Parcells was to only consult.....oh the irony... Also, Jets Sione Po'uha was born in 1979 in Salt Lake City... He played for the Jets from 2005-2012. He was one big man. Happy Birthday Sione! Have a great day Jets fans...

Do you have an encyclopedia set? Or maybe a local library nearby? Those could be good resources to help you find information.

More pressure here thou..... gotta make sure I find something new everyday..... No worries, Bing. I am always here to help. February 3, 1998: The Jets announce a return to their traditional green & white uniforms. The style that they wore for their first season as the Jets (1963) and for their only Super Bowl appearance.

Bing had this day pretty well covered last year, so just bumping that thread. I only have one item to add today. 2/3/2010, the Jets signed long snapper Tanner Purdum. Since his signing, Purdum has played in all 96 games for the Jets, making him the 5th longest tenured member of the team, behind Brick, Mangold, Harris and Pace. (Not counting Revis who left and came back).
