Honestly don't understand the Ballbather hatred the guy provided all of us with our farvorite haven for more than a decade I have no hard feelings towards Ballbather. He has always been great to me and hosted the first message board I think I've ever posted on. I wish scout was better. I wanted to love it, but between the terrible looking forum and all my pretend friends being here... Well... It was a no brainer. Even if this forum creator is a criminal that loves animals, but not enough to not wear fur. |

I think people are just frustrated about a lot of the misinformation/disinformation/incomplete information throughout the process, from being asked for current emails to "update the database" when it was really for Scout purposes it seems, to the "interface will be updated soon enough" which conflicts with what long time users at Scout were saying (i.e. the interface hasn't been updated in years), to the moving timeline for shut down, to the "read only" plans for old posts. I get it, I deal with migrations indirectly all the time at work, and they're constantly shifting and a real pain in the ass, but if you over-communicate, they leave people a better feeling when its all over. At the end of the day, Im pretty happy with the net result. Most of the posters I enjoyed reading and interacting with are here, and a certain few I dont care for have moved on or already been banned  |

The internet really shouldn't be taken so seriously.Im glad this place was set up though. The scout board just doesn't do it for me, no disrespect to Ballbather. That's a complete crock or you wouldn't be here. Like it or not, people make a choice where to spend their free time. Just like when a newspaper is sold and the editorial content goes from your perspective to another style entirely. JI was a daily hangout and source of fun for many of us. When Ballbather shit canned our routine by installing an inferior product, we had a right to rebel and express our anger. Saying that we should not have reacted "so seriously" demeans what we did on JI. |
