A new hookah, bong, or pipe. See if you can find a concert t-shirt from a show you were at on ebay or something.

Let's just agree that his friend is alive... let's agree the deuce is a doosh! I'll never apologize for being literate.

Couldn't get tickets either??!!!!! To a concert w/o Capt. Tripps? Should we assume you're one of those Dead fans that positively hates Big Red?

To a concert w/o Capt. Tripps? Should we assume you're one of those Dead fans that positively hates Big Red? I stopped counting shows at 350, If Big Red is Phish guy me no listen, me no care, so technically no reason for hate. Pitch me one of their songs that sounds most like Phish and nobody else let me take a listen, please.

For me, they're very different from where they were in the mid/late 90's. I've seen them 115 times. Wife and kids have kept that number down over the last few years.

Saw the Dead 30 times starting in 1982 when the scene was relatively small...Broome county in Binghamton was the smallest show I saw with like 6000. Jerry stayed in the room next to us and I got to meet him...cool guy...

I've told this little story before - I'd begged my parents to let me see the Dead, but they'd grown up in the 60's and knew the "scene" so they flat-out refused. I was introduced to Phish in '93 and got really into them, to the point where I'd beg for rides to Prime Cuts on Long Beach Road in Rockville Centre so I could buy the newest bootlegs. Fast forward a year, they announced the tour which included a stop at Jones Beach and I knew I had to go. My parents had assurances that Phish was not a rap group, so they let me go in July of 1994 at age 15. 114 shows later and they still think I duped them into letting me see the Dead Part Deux.

We must be around the same age, mine was a JGB show at Kean College on 2/28/80 they put it into CD form, Robert Hunter showed up it was great. First show was like a month later at the Spectrum. Jerry was great guy. It's funny I was 14, my buddy 15 and we would go to these early shows with his older brothers etc. they being 9 years older they were 23/24 it seemed like they were old men. Lol.
