Bryce Petty? Are we really talking about Bryce Petty today? Is tomorrow Mannion day? Here's a newsflash; Petty, Hundley, Mannion - they all suck. Shitburgers that dont even come with cheese. The whole fucking QB class sucks a pair of sweaty balls. Any other year, and these guys are barely on the radar. Even the top 2 prospects are littered with concerns. BUT BUT BUT... there's always a crowd that says - you can't ignore the position... OK? I guess? So what do you do? You draft guys that have natural talent. The QBs who at least have the tools that can't be taught (ie, arm strength, pocket presence, eyes down field etc) That list is pretty short; Grayson That's it. That's only conversation and it's a short one; He's not ready... There's Bridge, but you're talking 2-3 years of bench time. Just sign Fitzpatrick and stick a fork in us already.

I still say we Grab cutler if its possible. Fuck the draft for QB Honestly that's not such a crazy idea. I know some fans think that would be foolish but consider that you could probably get him for almost nothing in draft compensation, there is no signing bonus, and he only has two years of guaranteed money remaining. If the Bears really want to move him, which I don't think they will, you at least have to consider it at some level. If the Jets were to acquire him, I think you then have to go hard at drafting some weapons for him.

I don't have a problem with Cutler per say, but I don't know what line of thinking would be in acquiring someone like Cutler other than to instill an defacto "starting QB"... I mean, anything can happen, but on paper, we're no where near "win now" mode, which I would equate with going after Cutler. A place like HOU who has the pieces in place, makes more sense than a team like the Jets who have to sort out its entire roster.

IMO if you stabilize the QB position, have a smart free agency period and draft this year and next, then 2016 could be a legit playoff team. Its probably never going to happen because the QB market is so shitty that Chicago will realize that Cutler is still their best option for the next couple years.

With a little luck, it's possble in 2016.... but the other thing to consider is the new Front office and coaching staff - do they want to link themselves to Cutler? The on-field drama and pressure to produce with him so quickly?

The most I can hope for is watching some young players develop along the way.

I know it's not the popular party line, but it's not entirely impossible that Geno takes a big leap forward in year 3 with Gailey. There's at least a small window of hope.

I'm still on the Mariota bandwagon if he falls to #6, but otherwise I agree.
Winston is going #1 to Tampa, so for me it's either draft Mariota if he's there or bypass taking a QB all together.

It certainly wouldn't shock me if they ultimately decide to take Leonard Williams instead. I know there are plenty of people around here who aren't sold on Mariota, but my gut feeling is that if put in a solid, stable position, he'll develop into a Top 15 QB for the next 10-12 years barring injury. There's no doubt that he has some crazy physical talent, a lightning quick release, and is highly regarded for being a bright kid who is dedicated to his craft. And next to the Eagles, you could argue that the Jets are the next best destination for him. Gailey's version of the spread fits Mariota like a glove and he doesn't really have to be thrown into the fire with Geno in the fold and perhaps a veteran FA pickup.

If Winston and Mariota are gone at 6, I think sticking with Geno is the next best option. It's a longshot, but maybe shows some improvement playing for a HC that's not allergic to offense.

Petty or Grayson rd. 3. sign Bradford when he gets cut. Let Geno battle for starting job... see who develops, if the feeling isn't good, draft a QB next year.
