Just draft Cooper or White, and sign a FA pass rusher.

Hope he goes to the Raiders. If the Raiders sign him or a cut Percy or Mike Wallace then that most likely means we'll have our choosing of WRs.

Cobb and Maxwell should be our main targets.

Cobb is a great example of the power of coaching. He was raw out of Kentucky, and had the benefit of working with a great QB in a perennially prosperous offensive system in Green Bay. And now he gets to cash in. If this guy started with Sanjay LOL, he'd be out of the league right now. I have absolutely no doubt about that. All this to say, I'm not a huge fan of giving Cobb a crazy contract. If he comes a little cheaper than Decker did, then yeah sure. Your crazy. Yes he learned thru coaching but it obviously sticks because he is a proven elite route runner, has the speed to get around corners and has a knack for the end zone. Yeah his numbers will go down with a mediocre QB or that same mediocre QB improves his play because the guy knows how to get open. Either way your talking 1000 yards and 8-10tds, I'll take that in a heartbeat.

If Cobb comes to talk to the Jets, it will be to find out how much Green Bay will be paying him. He's not coming here.

I want to keep Percy but if I had to choose between the two I would go with Cobb. Sign Cobb and release Percy. Me as well. Just reno him to 5 mil and instead of Cobb and 51 we have Cobb, Harvin and 46. Is that a bad place to be?

Harvin isn't going to take a 50% pay cut with the Jets without hitting the open market first, and if that is his market price I'm sure a contending team with a more stable QB will give him that money and he will choose to go there.

If we get rid of Harvin, then I think that further increases the chances of us taking Cooper or White at #6.
I really like Parker, but my guess is that most GM's and scouts have Cooper and White firmly ahead of him. I think he goes off the board in the 10-15 area.
I think I'd rather just let Harvin go, sign someone like Eddie Royal to play the slot along with Kerley and draft Cooper/White at #6.

I hear ya but given the opportunity here and the fact that we have so much cap money it is quite possible that we can have Decker, Cobb, White/Cooper and Kerley as our receivers.

Why do you think Cobb would be so eager to come here? Its not like the Jets are going to pay him double than what Green Bay will, nor should they. Green Bay has cap space, if Cobb is as great and wonderful as many are making him out to be, why would GB let him walk over a couple million dollars?

Because they have cheaper options in Janis and Adams. Plus they need to revamp their front 7.

The only way we bring in Cobb is to give him a bigger pile of cash than any team with a good QB and make lots of that money base salary with no performance bonuses. No quality WR is going to come to a team with this shitty of a QB and pin his pay to what a shitty QB can do. Even bringing in a decent QB is too much of a question mark if there are a number of teams willing to offer comparable piles of cash.
