4got about Royal. Also checking Johnson stats had best years under Gailey. You might be on to something, a lot of people see Cobb as the sexier choice, but production & value on $$ this would be better route. Completely disagree....I would much rather have Cobb. Johnson gets nicked up all the time, Kerley can be just as good as royal is he is utilized correctly. But Cobb is the real deal. I like Cobb a lot. I guess it comes down to $$$$ for him .the production of the two might be greater then the one for the money.i hear what your saying with Kerley, if he was with Aaron Rodgers he would be putting up similar numbers 2 Cobb.

I don't see how Royal and Johnson equal Cobbs production. Cobb is an elite football player who can take it to the house every time he touches the ball, something the jets need desperately. Sorry but I am not buying that two fringe jags can give us the same production you can't look at it that way, talent is talent. I can see maybe linemen as a different story where you can get two decent players instead of one real good player, but not for WRs. Plus we will have Close to 58 million to spend, money is not an issue, sign Cobb, Worilds, Maxwell, Jackson, Rolle, and Franklin. You will still have money to sign some depth players, resign moe and draft picks.

Well the production Cobb will have with the Jets will be zero, that should be easy enough to beat he's not coming here.unless we double what Green Bay or Oak will pay for him.love to get him but. I like the names that you have assembled above sounds good to me,btw saw this. According to a Rich Cimini tweet, the new cap will be $143m, meaning the Jets have 54.75M cap space even without cuttin Harvin. It's very likely we will have almost $65M soon. Latest salary cap report from @espnstatsinfo: Jets will have $54.75M in cap space, based on a $143m cap. Only JAX with more room. #nyj

Cobb plays a vast percentage in the slot. We have a slot receiver. Cobb is not worth almost ten million a year.

I must have missed where Cobb became Calvin Johnson. Giving Cobb 9M per year is paying for past production and not future production. He isn't a 90 reception 1,000 yard receiver here and that is how you would be paying him. Again, I would MUCH rather have two players in Royal and S. Johnson for the same money and have more flexibility and a deeper WR group. Both those players would not require long term commits and if the Jets do draft one of the elite WR prospects you could easily move on from Johnson if need be in 2016.

No one is talking about Torrey Smith at WR - would come cheaper than Cobb and is still a definite upgrade.

We definetly need a top notch playmaker on the offense...maybe two. Also to say that there is zero chance the jets get Cobb is BS. He would come play for a team with a solid coach, and the bright lights of NYC In a heartbeat. And Cobb can also play on the outside, he has the speed and route running ability.

I'd prioritise trying to sign Smith as a free agent wide receiver over Cobb. As dependable as Decker is, he doesn't give the opposition's defensive coordinator fits which Smith could as a player who could take it to the house. Smith only had 49 receptions last season, for 11 touchdowns (a career high), so a tick under a quarter of his passes paid gold.
If the Jets miss out on Smith and Cobb, the fallback is Michael Crabtree, but his play seems to have dropped off somewhat over the past 12-18 months, so I wouldn't necessarily be breaking the bank and sitting on his doorstep at midnight when free agency opens gagging to sign him.
If the Jets could also sign Worilds, then Maccagnan and Bowles could cut one of Babin and/or Pace pretty quickly. Sam Acho is also another player who the Jets could sign away from the Cardinals (he's a free agent) and help Bowles install his defence here.

Hearing McCourty will be allowed to test FA while the Flats* tag Gostkowski
McCourty would be a nice fit

Why are people still wanting to penny pinch when we have to spend all of our cap space this year? It's so ridiculous. So what if we overpay by a couple of million dollars. We have to spend it anyway.

Why not Rahim Moore, I believe I read today he will have a chance to test the market?
