Ironic that you question where the Ridley fumbling meme originates, yet perpetuate the one about Ivory. The point I was trying to make here is that Ridley would be a good add as depth and if healthy he has potential to be better than anyone on our roster right now. Its great that you highlight one part of my response but if you read the rest of it I do mention that injuries a problem with Ridley. So you acknowledge Ridley' injuries could be a problem - good. That's not the issue. The discussion here is about perpetuation of false memes. You repeat that Ivory is always hurt - which he is not - yet you question why people perpetuate the myth that Ridley fumbles. You are doing exactly what you are criticizing in others - perpetuating a false meme. And as an aside I don't believe he'd be better than either Ivory or Powell even IF HEALTHY. Which he probably won't be. This isn't the Idzik era anymore where we sign low cost due to injury history flyers.

I think this is all a moot point. It doesn't look like the Jets will sign Ridley at this point.

I am very pleased with the depth signings we have made this offseason. Opens up endless avenues in the draft.

Interesting that Ridley chose the Jets over the Lolphins and Redskins due to "opportunity". It will be interesting to see how Gailey mixes in Ivory, Powell and now Ridley into the offence (assuming all three make the opening day roster).

I still think the jets draft a back. I pray we do.....BUT this takes the pressure off the NEED to do so, or do so early in the Draft. I don't think anyone sees Ridley lighting the world on fire but the Jets now have a true RB depth chart that includes guys with significant NFL experience, and the Jets have increased their flexibility in the Draft, particularly in Round 2...to take the best available player.

Right! I know lots of people on here are not too thrilled with the move to pick up Ridley but when healthy he is pretty good inside runner. I am thinking edge rusher and/or offensive tackle early now in the draft. It's incredible how Mac has improved our secondary and the depth of this team during the offseason.

I am thinking edge rusher and/or offensive tackle early now in the draft. It's incredible how Mac has improved our secondary and the depth of this team during the offseason. One thing I like about this Draft is how well it is lining up with our needs. Imagine if the Jets NEEDED a stud CB or were looking for a starting TE this year! Last year we went Safety and TE. This year it looks to me like the Draft is very thin at those positions and there are maybe 1 or 2 guys at CB worthy of a Top 20 pick. Yet, the Jets could really use an OLB, RB, WR.....and there are at least 5 guys worthy of using the #6 pick on at those positions (WRs Cooper, White and OLB/Edge guys Fowler, Shane Ray, Vic Beasley). When we get to the Top of Round 2 there will be several WRs and RBs whose value is aligned with where we are picking. Some of it may be luck and some of it planning but it looks like the Jets will be able to get younger and better at exactly the positions they need to during this Draft.

It's amazing what A GM can do with a plan and the aptitude to see it through.
