And yet another reason to continue losing. The top of the draft just got weaker with Peat going back for another year.....he could very well be the number 1 overall in 2016. www.draftinsider.net/blog/?p=10115

He's the only lineman I wouldn't be upset about with a top 5 pick.

Why would we select a LT this year? You have DBrick who's reliantly been performing at a high level and under contract for several more years while you are in need at skill positions. I don't get it. I'm not considering this position in the least. LG in FA will shore up the OLine nicely and we have the money to do so. Draft a WR and RB and look to fill the holes on defense of which (surprisingly) there are many depending on the base scheme.

As much as I like Dbrick he has been performing like shit this year and been declining year after year. He is on the wrong side of thirty and has a huge cap hit, now that we sit at #6 I have no problem bringing in a franchise LT prospect at peanuts. I'm still in favor of bringing in a playmaker, but I'd be OK with a prospect like Peat. He would be the perfect building block going forward for a dominant Oline.

Looks like Peat is now thinking about leaving. Would be great news as it gives us another option at 6--the more talen available at the top of the draft the better. From Tony Pauline's blog this AM: www.draftinsider.net/blog/?p=10305"From what I’m told Andrus Peat is now on the fence as to what his next move will be. On December 5th, I reported the word in scouting circles was Peat was likely to stay at Stanford for another season. I also mentioned, 'Could he (Peat) change his mind? Never say never. People will try to get into his head and show Peat the dollar signs which await him but as I hear it the player himself wants to return to Stanford.' I’m told to some extent this is what’s taking place; Peat is weighing his desire to return to college versus the economic advantage of turning pro. A decision from Peat could come by the middle of next week."

Peat officially entering the draft Now the question is.....does he even make it to 6? I think the Raiders would be fucking stupid not to take him at #4. When you're relying on a totally broken down Donald Penn as your starting LT, then you have some serious issues.

Peat officially entering the draft Now the question is.....does he even make it to 6? Both Washington and Oakland need O line help. Washington needs it more than Oakland. Jacksonville should take Williams at 3, that's a no brainer for them.

Washington - Randy Gregory That's how I see the Top 5 picks playing out. With Peat declaring, I think Cooper is basically guaranteed to still be there at #6. The only team that was a threat in the first place was Oakland, and I think they'll now elect to take the franchise LT at #4 and pick up a WR later on.

I don't think Washington goes with Gregory, they have Kerrigan and Murphy to play OLB, they have Trent Williams making 13 million and Morgan Moses as their OTs. They need O line help desperately.

I'm not sure you pass on a freakish talent like Gregory just because you drafted Trent Murphy last year. Especially with Washington's defense being such a shitshow for the past couple years. I guess Ronnie Stanley might be a possibility for them, but I sure as hell wouldn't pass on Gregory for him.

If Peat is off the board I think their pick would be Stanley. Outside chance of Clemmings if he really rises.
