That's not what I'm saying. Any new GM is going too have his circle of scouts that he already trusts and will rely on their opinions.....people he is currently working with. Not a guy like Bradway who should have zero input, even though he still might be on the payroll. Even Idzik made changes at the top before his first draft. Idzik didn't make changes to the scouts until after the draft. A new GM isn't going to have scouts lying around waiting for him to get a job. Any active scout, who has been out scouting this year is working for a team already and will be with that team throughout the draft process. The Idzik hire was dragged out. I doubt a brand new GM in a full cleansing will rely on someone like Bradways recommendations, let alone the scouts that are employed by the Jets. The scouting community is a closed knit group and if we clean house, our current scouts will only be writing reports.

The play calling for Oregon has been shit on 3rd down and it just cost them. Come on Arizona! Score a TD and make them pay.

If the new GM isn't relying on the current scouts then what scouts is he relying on? It's a pretty widely known fact that scouting and personnel departments don't get revamped in January. Any active scout working for a team is contracted to do so through the draft process and can not just go work for another team in January. Maybe the new GM brings in an assistant GM or something, but the scouting department isn't going to change until May or June.

It's not like the Arizona defense has been in Mariota's face all night either. He's just been missing WRs and should have been picked off twice. He did have one nice throw on the run tho but that's it. Hopefully Arizona's offense wakes up and makes this a game. It's been a boringggggg ass game so far.

Oregon offense and Mariota do not look sharp. STs and defense have given them good field position all night. Arizona needs to get something going now.

I agree with the bolded, but if you think the new GM is going to rely on the current staff I highly doubt it. There is a reason why they should all be fired and any competent new hire will put his reputation amongst his own circles. I'm not talking about scouts fulfilling their contracts. Do you really think a guy like Cohen had any input regarding our last draft considering he knew the guillotine was chopping his head off? It should be no different this offseason if we finally clean house.

Did Mariota really not realize he was 2-3 yards passed the line of scrimmage.? What terrible awareness after a great escape.
And now two Arizona players ran into each other. It's like both these teams forgot how to play football. Maybe the Aliens from Space Jam are back.

He was 3 yards beyond the line of scrimmage. Mariota is inaccurate tonight and seems to have little feel for the game. But they are still up 13 in spite of all the mistakes.

Arizona looks like complete shit on offense. Their freshman QB is playing like a freshman.

These false starts are ridiculous Oregon is one of the most penalized teams in the league so it's not that shocking. It's still a lot for them tho. I believe they said they were ranked 114th in penalties this season. Nice throw by Mariota, but wasn't a very tough one. I guess these annoucers are just excited something happened in this game haha.
