on this day in 1959 former NY Jets great Freeman McNeil was born in Jackson, MS.
Freeman went to UCLA and was drafted in the 1st round by the Jets in 1981.
he played from 1981-1992. He was the NFL rushing leader in 1982 and made the Pro bowl in 1982, 1984 and 1985.
He is arguably the best RB the Jets have ever had.
