If Mariotta slides to 5, I don't even like giving up a 2nd or a 3rd to move up to Te Skins spot to get him. If he falls to 5, someone will come up to the Skins spot.......hope it's not us I'd give up a single 2 or a 3 in a heartbeat for Mariota. I just wouldn't trade multiple 1st rounders to move up into the Top 2. When you have one of the worst QB situations in the league and a potential franchise QB is within striking distance who has all of the physical tools and intangibles that you look for at the position...you don't scoff at the opportunity to take that guy just because you don't want to surrender a 3rd round pick. And I have no clue why you hate Mariota yet you would love to stockpile picks for a kid like Cardale Jones next year, who has only started 3 games in his career and isn't even a lock to start for OSU this season.

Not me dude......I like Mariotta I just don't like giving up anything other than our 1st for him......So if he falls, fantastic. Otherwise, lets play out this season with what we have. Draft a QB to groom....and if these 2 clowns that we have right now don't pan out, go all in next year for one of the kids coming out next year

Worst case we trade up to #1/#2 and give up multiple 1st round picks and other picks for Mariota or Winston or whoever, and they bust. you can say that about any pick they make, but yeah trading up and getting burnt will not be good. on the other hand it doesn't look like either maccagnan or bowles are that foolish and if they did make such a move it wold be with some really good reason. at 6 they can trade down a few spots and still get a pretty good player (and one they need) and then maybe grab grayson in the 3rd or higher rounds.

If he was Andrew Luck, he'd be the undisputed #1 overall pick in the draft and the Bucs would tell you to go fuck yourself even if you offered your next 5 1st round picks to move up. QB's like that come around once every 15-20 years. It's because Mariota ISN'T Luck that we might even have a remote shot at him.

Again, I like Mariotta......but the track record for college QB's that play in the spread moving to the NFL are not good. Scares me a bit, actually. Nobody knows what Mariotta will turn into, but it's sort of true history repeats itself.
