Nkemdiche is an interesting prospect. IIRC he was the number 1 rated high school player in the nation. After watching some of those tapes I just don't see it. Lazy motor, easily blocked, poor use of hands and leverage. Only makes plays when the offensive line has a brain fart. Very similar to Gregory whom I hated last year.
I sure as hell don't want to draft another defensive guy in the first round, so I won't follow him closely this year, but what type of hype(draft position) are you hearing?
He might be playing out of position for Ole Miss and I see more of a 5 tech or even wider at the NFL level. Either way I'm not a fan.

That's exactly how I feel about him. He was suppose to be the next "Suh" and if you look at Suh's redshirt SO year and SO year they're very similar to Nkemdiche's, but Suh always had a motor which Nkemdiche does not. This year will be make or break with him. As of right now he's a 3rd-4th round prospect for me. The only one I really want is Bosa if we trade Mo or Richardson (because he's an ass). If we pick mid to late 1st I wouldn't mind Myles Jack or Jalen Ramsey depending on what we do in free agency.

I've watched jack of Jack because next year we are finally going offense. I don't even care what position, but we are going offense. Although I've been telling myself that for years.

That type of team structured defense will never win in todays NFL. You need too score points and that has been our weakness for over a decade. On another note just watched a little of Tunsil's game and I'd be hyped with a LT 1st rounder next year. Brick is only getting older and declining year after year. Tunsil sure looks the part of a LT with that body frame and length. I didn't see that nasty side come out....but I'm OK with that for a LT. He had good body recovery and ability to re-anchor. Didn't see any second level blocking but that might be by design of their offense. Moves well for a big guy......maybe he adds that nastiness to his game this year. Watching these game tapes makes Ole Miss look soft.

Watching these game tapes makes Ole Miss look soft. I agree. We need to start to add youth, speed and depth to our offense. Most of our RBs are free agents after this season, Brick and Mangold are not getting any younger and we have no proven deep threat among our WRs (Hopefully Devin Smith gives us that this season). Time to build the other side of the ball. QB may still be a priority, but so is OL (guys like Stanley, Tunsil and Drango) and I still think we should be looking at WR if a guy like Treadwell or Boyd is available.

I'm following the Vernon Adams saga in Portland with interest... Last I saw, he was still expected to graduate from Eastern Wash during the summer and should be eligible to play for Oregon in the fall. Although his lack of any pre-season work with the Ducks will probably limit his playing time and effectiveness early in the season. www.foxsports.com/college-football/story/report-vernon-adams-on-schedule-071315
