The upside of not suspending Belicheck for the 1st four games is that the NFL world gets to see his managerial ability without a HOF QB. Hopefully, he falls on his face and proves once and for all that he's just an average coach. Belicheat is already scheming ways to circumvent more rules. Cheaters will cheat. This was nothing but a slap on the wrist. Don't cooperate with a league investigation and only get 4 games. Big deal. They go 2 and 2 and they're fine. He's got more money than god. 1 million dollar fine? Kraft wipes his a@@ with that. Draft picks lost? Belicheat wastes them like nickels anyway. Belicheat not punished for "ignorance" like Payton was? Bullsh*t. 2nd time this organization was busted for cheating. A slap on the wrist. IMO, an epic FAIL by the league. They had a chance to really send a message about the "integrity of the game" and came up lame. As long as the Lombardi Trophy stays in Foxboro and there's no asterisk next to the 2013-14 champs name, everything else is meaningless. Only satisfaction will be watching our defense unleash hell on these pricks week 7. Who cares if it's his first home game back. |

My speculation is that when Goodell burned the tapes after Spygate, he warned Kraft and BB that he let them off easy to protect the league but any more issues would get a nuclear response. It actually took them longer than I would have expected, but now they are paying the piper. As for Brady, he's going to make it worse for himself by sticking to the "I'm innocent" line and just amping up his prima donna act. Good...the internet memes and the late night hosts are going to crucify him and it will be splendid to watch.
Finally...for a laugh, go read the responses at patsfans.com. Rational thought has left the building.
