whatever. richardson is a darn good player. hopefully the jets will be able to keep wilk, richardson, harrison and williams together long enough to get the qb situation straightened out.

How tight are Mo and Sheldon? I get the sense they're pretty close, although for a little while you could say Sheldon was a threat to Mo. Now, I think this is a VERY interesting situation. You have both Mo and Sheldon who could see Leo Williams as a threat. Williams is the Jets insurance policy against BOTH of these guys to a degree. I believe the 3 of them are separated by 2-3 years each on their contract end dates. It's a great situation for the Jets but makes things a little precarious for these DE's. A few thoughts...
- If Mo resigns then Richardson could likely become the odd man out with either a franchise tag or trade at the end of his contract. - If there's no deal for Mo this year and he plays out his deal, the Jets could franchise him and still extend him or trade him. BUT this gives the Jets a year to evaluate Williams on the field and see if they really have something. - I wonder if this talk by Richardson is intended to push the Jets to sign his buddy Mo? If these guys are close then maybe Richardson's tough talk about how good he is makes the Jets eager to lock up Mo because they see Richardson as the guy who will be even MORE difficult to extend.

Dude wasn't showing up to mandatory camp, I believe directly because of Mo's deal. WTF Could be wrong but it sure looked that way!

Sheldon is a great, great player -- more versatile than Mo, in my opinion. The problem is his mouth. He talks way too much. He spouted off on Twitter about cops when Michael Brown was killed (justifiably so, according to the DOJ report), and now he's implicating himself in Mo's contract negotiations. He needs to be taken down a couple notches.

All the people saying Richardson is "already better than Wilkerson" will have different feelings about this guy when negotiations come around. Discouraging sign - just don't like players like this. People hated on Revis for being greedy, but DR is the same guy who actually WAS the best defensive player in the league back in '09, and didn't say a word when the DMVP was given to Old Man Woodson. If Revis was/is greedy, what is Richardson going to be? If someone has to go, I say re-sign Mo and look to trade Richardson in a year or so. The best defensive player in the NFL should net a nice haul in return. I dunno... I think a lot of us can differentiate between the fact that Sheldon may be a better player than Mo, and still acknowledge that based on contractual BS it might be better to retain Mo over Sheldon. Bottom line, if you cant retain both, you have to get something back in return.

The more he opens his mouth, the less i like him!. Pay Mo, let Williams develop, then let Shelly walk when his rookie contract is up.

Shelly is the best player on our team at a position we are stacked at. Whatever contract he gets in a year or 2 he will have earned, and to me is a player that you cannot let walk away. Mo on the other hand is a good player but hes not even the best DE on the roster, and the drafting of leonard williams makes him even more expendable. If you resign Mo, i dont think you can resign Sheldon. Simply just Way too much money to put into 1 position. Also IMO Mo is not worth the money that he is seeking(15 mill a year, 40 + guaranteed totaling around 100 mill). If i was the GM I'd try Trade Mo for a 1st and a 3rd. Then i'd use our 2 first round picks next year to trade up and finally get a good QB. There will be 3 - 4 qbs taken in the top 12 picks next year. IMO We need to grab 1 of them. And I think every Jet fan would be happy trading wilkerson if you can get a Franchise QB in return.
I know someone will ask who they are so, my top 4 QBs in no order
Christian Hackenberg - Penn State Connor Cook - Michigan State Jon Goff - Cal Cardale Jones - Oh High Oh State
