Now this game , this period, is where the team captain should step the fuck up and score a goddamn goal or two. I am sure Martin would have been your next choice to play the hero, and the Bailey in the shootout.

Yup -- stupid selfish play by Tavares, but we still come away with 2 points. The secondary scoring has been huge all season long. Tonight, it was Bailey and Martin. Seems like its a different hero every night. Just wait until the top line gets going. Nice to bounce back with two wins after the losing streak. Maybe Hammer will be back Friday night -- sounds like he and Boychuk have both been skating the last couple of days.

Tavares got tagged with another retaliation penalty earlier. Seems like the top lines been cold for a while now.
Maybe with Strome looking like the real deal, Garf will trade Tavares to Edmonton for a bag of wet nickels,

The good news is we have been treading water in their absence.

Good news, I think. I assume that this means that Hammer &/or Boychuk will be ready to go Friday.

Looks like we are finally getting healthy (Except for Grabner who went back on IR yesterday).

Eh - I'm right here. TBH, I don't know how to get onto to these new boards all that well. I just figured out JI after 10+ years and that fucker got shut down.
I was at the game on Saturday night - got to our seats about 10-15 minutes before puck drop. Soon after they announced "tonight's scratches". Usually no one pays attention to it but when Strait was announced, there was a significant roar through the crowd.
So glad to hear that Hamonic and Boychuk are back. Granted every team has injuries so no one should be crying for us (the fucking Penguins right now are probably skating dudes from the ECHL), but having our full D complement will be huge. Although Griff looked really good on Saturday (but I'm prolly late to discuss that).

Griff has really started to pick-up his game and it's a shame he got sent down but I agree with the decision. He was going to be riding the pine every night with our top 6 back. He needs to work on his first pass, otherwise he has looked pretty good in his limited time and I liked the physical aspect. Edit: Put your avatar up, that default one is fucking creepy.

I wouldn't mind if Griff stayed up TBH. We've had so many injuries I doubt we'll stay healthy for long. And considering he'd get to skate, travel and generally be with the team, 60% of games in the NHL may be just as good experience as 100% in the A. But I see the flip side and can't really argue too much - his time will come.

I wonder who is in goal tonight. I think I'm going to hit the game tomorrow - I really don't want to see Chad JOhnson again. And I hope we get Nabby again instead of Vasilevskiy. Pretty rare that the 3rd string goalie is that much better than the second. But the kid is supposed to be legit.
What a great problem to have - 2 top goalies. And we're over the moon that we MAY have found one.

From Newsday, "Hamonic and Boychuk are all but certain to return Friday night in Detroit, just in time"

From Newsday, "Hamonic and Boychuk are all but certain to return Friday night in Detroit, just in time" Yup. Just got the update on my Isles app. Capuano: Halak in goal. Boychuk and Hamonic are in the lineup tonight on defense. No changes at forward. #Isles
