Chad Johnson getting the start tonight. How big would it be for him to come up with a strong performance tonight. We are going to need a competent back-up so we can keep Halak fresh late in the season. Given the Holiday week and past experience with Hab fans invading NVMC en mass, I fear a sea of red in the arena tonight. |

The most egregious invasions usually happened on Saturday nights when fans can make the trip together. That plus the fact that the arena was still pretty empty made it even worse.
I think - being that its a school holiday tomorrow and 70% of people are off from work there will be a big showing and they'll get close to a sell out. There will still be a lot of Habs fans, but not as bad as in years past.
Also, it looks worse on TV than it actually is because the lower 100s - some of the worst seats in the house are always populated by visiting fans. But they're on TV.

Montreal is #6 in PK, killing off about 86% of penalties. Lets see how they do it tonight. I bet they don't play that passive crap.

The better goalie won tonight. Chad Johnson has been a disaster and is costing us games. I see they recalled Poulin today.....time to give him a shot the next time we need the B/U to play.

Still would like to see them shoot the puck more instead of trying for the perfect pass. Shoot it and then clean up the rebounds instead of the pretty pass attempt.

I thought they shot it well tonight but kept missing the net, especially in the first. The problem is CJ is costing us valuable points every time he is between the pipes. He gives up a softie every game and his positioning and lateral movement sucks. |

Had not heard that they recalled Poulin. But Johnson has been so disappointing, they really don't have much choice. If Poulin doesn't get it done, we may need to make a move for a back-up goalie. We are lucky to be 5-5 in Johnson's 10 starts, Isles have scored a lot of goals in most of his wins. |

I'm still in favor of carrying the three goalies when we need a B/U to play and give the call to Poulin. If Johnson was only capable we would have the best record in the league. |

Halak on IR with lower body injury. Not sure how serious or how long he is expected to be out, but we are now in the hands of Johnson and Kevin Poulin.
