Great game. Outside of Ovi, it looked like the Capitals were going through the motions. Hard to fathom actually.

Took back home ice advantage, too.
If they could spend the last minute of each period in the Caps zone, I wouldn't have to keep my cardiologist on speed dial.

If they could spend the last minute of each period in the Caps zone, I wouldn't have to keep my cardiologist on speed dial. if periods were 19 minutes long, the isles would have won the presidents trophy running away with it 3 things that killed them this season: -- last minute goals -- halak mishandling the puck behind the net -- not clearing the zone when they easily should have been able to saw 2 of those 3 happen last night, gotta get better |

Not clearing the zone is the biggest problem IMO. Flip the fucking thing out like you're whacking a golf ball with a 9 iron for fuck sake.

The play-by-play guy on NBCSN is the tits. Can't recall his name. Used to do Devils games, IIRC. I'd love to watch and listen to him do an Isles game. His color man, however, is the biggest ranger homer loser ever.

I got the Pens game on NBCSN tonight. i think I'd rather watch NBCSN than Howie, but I gotta DVR tomorrow's game and watch it when I get home. Don't want to DVR a blacked out channel. |

I may be mistaken, but I believe the last time the Islanders led a playoff series 2-0, it was the 1983 Finals vs the Oilers.

Well. THAT sucked.
Outplayed for most of the game. Amazing they were up 3-1 in the 2nd. Thought they might steal it, but there is a reason puck possession is such a great indicator of success. The unforced turnovers in the D zone need to stop. It's like the whole team is doing it now.
And Okposo played well, but without a stick, go attack the point man. Don't stand there like a dope!

Yup, it was a rough night. Outskated, outhit, outplayed in just about every facet of the game. I guess we should feel good heading home tied, but that was a dismal performance. 2 goal lead against a back-up goalie, you have to find a way to win that game. We need Hammer back in the worst way -- D is getting beaten up and pushed around. |
