Fran's has been nonexistent, too. Should have benched him, too. Put Grabner back in.

I think a lot of the problems we are having in this series come down to 2 things:
- We have run into a hot goalie. Holtby didn't have to be great last night -- I think we only had 13 shots -- but he has been really good since missing game 2. 1 goal int he regulation 60 in each of the last 3 games -- thats not going to win many games. I really don't know if it is Holtby or our inability to finish, which plagued as over the last 6 weeks fo the season. Every goalie we played looks great against us.
- Caps physicality is wearing us down. It is wearing us down in games -- Caps have dominated 3rd periods in this series aside from Game 1. Last 4 games, Caps have outscored us 6-0 in 3rd periods. Not exactly a recipe for success. And it is wearing us down in the series as Caps seem to be getting stronger and we seem to be playing worse.
I am not feeling real optimistic about tomorrow afternoon, but I am still hopeful they find a way to get it done.

Basically the Caps are a better team. The way the Isles played down the stretch really gave an indication of how the playoffs would go. Really, shouldn't be surprised. Caps dominate third periods, which is something the Isles have to learn. Isles look gassed from the season. Maybe look in to a better strength conditioning program coach or something. Way too many highs and lows. I'd prefer a non Jekyll and Hyde team.

de haan had a particularly brutal 30 seconds on the go-ahead goal.
listen, you can blame Cappy all you want, and he deserves some of it for sure, but the reason the team is where it is now isn't because of Kennedy over Grabner, or some other healthy scratch decision. It's because the top 2 lines have not produced. When the 4th line is your best scoring option, you have problems. And we have problems.

meh, it's over
we had our chances, could have actually won the first four games
they wore us down...even up 5-1 last night they were still skating harder, hitting harder, squashing the cigarette butt into the dirt
someone needed to take a run at kuznetzov last night when we were down 3-1, even things up for the way they hammered viznofsky, turn that game into a shitstorm, but there's no spark there, no fight
young team, some playoff lessons learned, get a new coach behind the bench and fill a few roster holes and we're looking real good to make cup runs for the next 4 or 5 years

Was shocked by the lack of fight last night. When it was 5-1 late and the Caps had the first PP line on, I could not believe no one was taken out.

Sometimes I just need to vent, my wife doesn't want to hear it so I come here for that. You are right. If our first two lines were scoring, we are probably up 3-2 in the series and looking to close it out on Saturday. If we go on to lose, the blown lead in Game 2 is the one that got away that I will think about during the offseason.

Butchie had a point on last nights broadcast... at that point, why not put Martin and Clutterbuck out there to send a message? Of course, shortly thereafter, both got sent to the showers early....

Im not a Cappy basher, but I do think he's shepherded this young team to about all he can. He was fine when expectations were lower, but its time to make a change. Problem is, Im not sure Snow will bring in any coach that he may feel threatened by. I dont think theres too many holes to plug... Id like some size at forward and on defense please.

I don't think the coaching staff is going anywhere.

Just picked up two seats for an unbelievably low price via TickPick. 4th row to the side of the net JT scored the OT winner in Game 3. Bringin my 12 year old boy.
