Will it have a major impact or little to none at all?

As per usual it all revolves around the Offense.

Well he's no longer our starting CB so that's good.

Big opportunity for Rontez Miles +1 Well he's no longer our starting CB so that's good. +2 We have depth now and he likely wasn't going to be counted on to start. But, he's right there behind the starters as a versatile, experienced backup so it's a tough loss IMO. With Dee going down it hurts even more. Guys like Rontez Miles and Dex McDougle will have to step up and can anticipate playing more than just an occasional snap when the bullets really start flying this year.

allen was a back up safety. not a good loss but he was still learning and pretty aerage. he'll be replaced.

I didn't think we have as much depth at safety as we do at CB so I thought it was strange that the Jets signed a CB after putting Allen on the waived/injured list (same as Stephen Hill if I'm not mistaken) and taking a chance that he doesn't clear waivers. I thought he was more valuable to the team than that would seem to indicate. And it sucks for him as I thought he'd have a chance this season to excel after his crazy position adjustments last year messing up his season. Also too, Pryor better step up.

He's a seventh round pick that started eight games last year so he has definitely overachieved. He hasn't been replaced with another safety yet, anyway

At this time the secondary is intact for the start of the season, with the new additions. Lord help the Jets had not made the additions at CB and Safety they did during the off season. Had this not occurred, it would of been another really long season. On another note, I just read an article about the retirements, talent leaving and suspensions with the 49'ers, now that's a team in a world of hurt

Whatever depth they had at Safety is now gone with the Allen injury. I would be surprised if Durrell Eskridge, the UDFA out of Syracuse is ready this year. Unless I am missing someone, we are down to 4 safeties, including 1, Rontez Miles, who has never taken an NFL snap. Hopefully he is ready after 2 seasons on the practice squad. I also thought I saw somewhere (maybe the TC thread) that Bowles has been working Darrin Walls a bit at Safety. Will be interesting to watch during pre-season.

It's a significant loss, even if he is a backup.
He's still our most versatile safety with the best coverage ability and the size/speed to match up man-to-man against TEs.
I am more concerned about losing Allen than losing Milliner. We are very well stocked at CB, far less so at Safety where Pryor is still a question mark and Miles has no real game experience.

None really
He wasn't going to start and I'm not even convinced that he was ahead of Jarrett as the 3rd safety.

Decent sparkplug-type; knack for playing smart under pressure; loves to ballhawk; make big plays. They'll find a place, when he's needed.

Not much. He was an overachiever that was forced into a larger role than he should of had bc of Idzik and his limitations were exposed. He shouldnt have been more than a 2nd team DB and Special Teams player.
Hate to see anybody get injured like that. By all accounts he was a solid kid and a hard worker. I hope he is able to play again.
