I'm thinking of doing a live draft this year whilst my wife has her baby shower. Having never done one before, what exactly is needed? A big whiteboard? Is there some kind of app or something that I can use on XBOX ONE so I can put the draft board up on my big screen -- or can I do that somehow with my computer connected to the tv?
I'm just looking for some ideas on what I'll need, how long it will take, etc.

For you, you'll prolly need lots of Tom Collins and calligraphy pens.

But seriously, there's probably a dozen apps out there for hosting a FF draft.
And a Tom Collins would go good about now.

If you use ESPN they have a great offline drafting app, big draft board and plenty of tools. I've used it the past few years and just throw it on a big ass wall with a projector, could do the same hooking up your computer to a TV.
Used to use a whiteboard with stickers and all that, some people still like that for the traditional experience. I prefer the app, streamlines things more.
Beyond that just make sure everyones there/pays beforehand if you play for cash. Have food, drinks or BYOB. Plenty of seating if doing it at yours or a buddy's place or rent somewhere out.
How long it takes depends on how many people, rounds and time between picks. I run a 16 team league with 16 rounds, am pretty strict to enforce the 90 second time limit. Whole thing usually takes 2-3 hours for 256 picks - an 8 person league would be about half that. Really depends how prepared and in control you are, with a bunch of friends drinking and bullshitting it can get out of hand quickly and you can lose track of time. For the most part it takes care of itself.

Back in the day, CBS used to send you the big white board with stickers, but as the commish, I couldn't concentrate on my own picks when I was finding those goddamn stickers!!!!!!!!
Now I just use the live draft and you can still have everyone in the room and still talk shit. They just use their own laptops.
