So for those of you that weren't at the game Sunday, Fireman Ed made an appearance on the big screen in pregame and once the game was starting, and I won't lie the stadium got a jolt when he popped up, but after that he was not shown the rest of the game. I'm not one that really cares about whether he is on the jumbotron or not, (even though I know the stadium would be louder if he is), but either do it or don't. I have heard that he was "passing the torch", but if that's the case, it should've been warranted years ago. It kind of felt like a last attempt at 15 minutes of fame. Also, Marshall and Revis made comments about him back on screen in the postgame, and it seems like they want him back doing his job. Thought it was worth the discussion about where people stand on it.

Not quite the glorious return I'm sure Ed envisioned when he cooked up his "retirement" scheme. Hopefully Sunday was the last of it.

There is no doubt the cheer was the best it has been since he retired. The Jets asked him back from what I've read based off an online petition. He was in a different location than before, and he was not the only one to lead the cheer, there was a couple of other guys who they showed on the screens too.
The team likes Ed, and for the most part the fans do too, I think it's great he's back.

That's the loudest I've heard the chant in a long time. Let the fuckin guy be, it's better with him than without him.

His new location was closer to where he was in GSyes you're right, he was more on the sideline at the old place, directly across from me down low, he looked to be in the end zone near the tunnel Sunday. I moved to the shade at the MetLife, couldn't take frying in those early games anymore.

I'm confused at how it was "half-assed"
Seemed like he was there to me... and from where I was at 1000 miles away that JETS chant seemed pretty fuckin loud on TV.
Clearly louder than it's been in years. And hey! Actually done at the right times it even seemed like.
