All I'm looking for is a solid healthy receiver and hopefully he will be around when we get a long term Qb.

Here's a 3 minute highlight reel. The thing I noticed the most was that he had to work for most all of these catches. There were a few on the mark but most of them he had to adjust to the ball or slow down for it. With our QB history, he'll feel right at home! He makes better adjustments on the ball than any receiver in last year's draft.
I see that also. There were a lot of 'iffy' throws in the early part of that clip. He definitely had to work to reel some of those in. Granted, the DBs were typically doing their best Kyle Burnt Toast Wilson impression on some of those plays, but give Smith credit for working for the catch. There were also several plays where had he been led properly, he'd have had easy sailing to the end zone. Gonna be interesting.

I loved this pick and was so disappointed that he got hurt in camp. I have been checking for updates on him since his injury. We've been missing the deep ball threat for such a long time. Fitz doesn't exactly have a deep ball arm but if he can hit Smith on the run, he's gone.

Admittingly, I'm always going to pit his career versus DGB but that doesn't stop me from being jacked about his probable debut this monday night. I'm on the Smith bus and laying on the horn... I wanna see bombs over Baghdad, baby. Turn him loose, and let the kid do what he does best - go deep. I pray Fitz has enough mustard left in that rusty cannon, cause this will open up A LOT of field underneath for Decker & Marshall. Dayum, we got our own OBJ His landing was actually more graceful than OBJ too. BONED UP

All I need from him is a dozen "Go" routes during the course of the game to either open up the middle of the field or connect on a bomb at some point.

Fitz wouldn't have been able to hit Devin deep tonight anyway. Lol

I think the Jets wanted to give him one more week to recover and immerse himself in the offense before throwing him out there. Sunday against the Eagles is a perfect time. We could be trailing fast.
