Don't know where you sat but on TV, they showed a mass exodus of Cubs fans just before the 9th inning started. Right because tv shows a better clearer picture of reality. You calling me a blind braindead fuck Vin? Now come on, Ragu. Nobody here said you're blind. But seriously, that's what they showed on TV. Maybe they showed another area of the stadium emptying out while your area hung tough. Who knows? Oh btw, did you know that Wilmer Flores' name is actually 'William' and Daniel Murphy is really 'David'? Cal Ripken told me so.

Well, I would have preferred the Jays(not as strong SP and BP) but if you're going to be the best, you might as well beat the best.
Need Cespedes and Duda to have discipline at the plate and not chase the pitches in the dirt. We also need the 6,7,8 batters to work the count and turn-over the lineup.
My brain and eyes tell me KC in 6 but my heart overrides them with Mets in 7!!

METS SET WORLD SERIES ROTATION The order for their series against the Royals will be Matt Harvey, Jacob deGrom, Noah Syndergaard and Steven Matz. Explaining why deGrom won't start Game 1, manager Terry Collins said he could use extra rest.

Explaining why deGrom won't start Game 1, manager Terry Collins said he could use extra rest. Fine with this. The problem won't be the Royals starters and our matchups, more so their bullpen and hitters who rarely strike out. Fun fact though, NONE of our starters have ever faced the Royals - that gives us an advantage IMO. Only issue with all this extra rest will be hoping our bats stay hot and the pitchers don't get out of rhythm. Another fun fact - we open next season against the Royals.

That last fact really is interesting. Had no clue. Why would the Mets open against the American League KC Royals of all teams, or is that customary for the WS opponents to open against each other the next season? To your original points about the rotation and matchups, I agree. I think KC not having seen the Mets starters should be a slight advantage for the Mets, but as you said, KC hitters are very resilient, rarely strike out and have a knack for turning bad counts (ex. 1-2) and bad at-bats into productive ones with walks or frustrating singles. If they do that to the Mets we're in trouble because we need 6+ innings out of every starter. If they start picking pitchers apart early it could be a nightmare.

Pure coincidence that we're playing the Royals to start next year, first time we're even playing them since 2012. Schedule came out earlier this year, schedule makers got lucky. And ever since the Astros joined the AL each league has 15 teams, means a lot more interleague games due to the odd number.
