Doesn't sound good for Mangold this week
Wasn't Johnson the primary backup center this pre-season?
I know Dozier was mostly playing OG

Dozier was preparing at Center for a lot of Camp I believe.
What's the update on Mangold? Concussion protocol? If so, I don't think he will or should play. Sit him out unless he's truly 100%. Jeremy Maclin was out of the concussion protocol last week and the Chiefs de-activated him. That seems to be the trend these days.

Oakland is not the best place for someone to have their first start at center. Hope Mangold can make it

not that losing a starter is good but tons of teams have patchwork olines and do very well. wasn't the patsie oline one of story lines? in recent times the chargers and the steelers have both had young or lines made up of second stringers and have done just fine. and look at the seahawks. the jets picked up their starting rt and lg in the past two seasons. so it seems like the whole notion of the oline being gold plated is wrong.

Colin Baxter had Rex preparing him. Hopefully we can do better than that - no matter who ends up snapping the ball to Fitz.

Wasn't Johnson the primary backup center this pre-season? He played pretty much every second string snap during the preseason. He looked pretty good, was surprised when he didn't make the initial 53.

Seahawks line is terrible...they're clearly missing Carpenter and Unger

Not too mention he's only in his fourth season and is 26-27 years old. I would sell my soul for that type of production from a Jets QB.
