Im addicted to ativan. Im at the top dose. I don't abuse it, but my doctor will never take me off it he said. Ever. Special circumstances I guess. I told him I don't need it. He told me look at your life before it. Also when I did stop that uncontrolled anger temper was back immediately. He has zero doubt if I stop I pick up right where I left off years ago. No drugs for sociopaths. Zoloft. Paxil depakote thorazine, I been on the all. Ativan has worked the longest. Gonna ween myself down off them again Like I said, I'm not a fan of long-term benzo use. Here and there is great. Surprised that depakote didn't work. Did they try one of the other mood-stabilizing AEDs, like lamotrigine? SSRIs/SNRIs are tricky shits to get right. Eventually most people find one that works, but between reaching therapeutic levels and weening off to try another one, it's a long process, one that most people get fed up with. avatar on top ain't lying...

It's brutal. I had a 6 year run of Nortriptyline (theraputic window was 75/mg night). Got off that. 2 years later; okay Zoloft! 6 months later felt urge to dig at my temple with a fork, to get to the creamy center. I just called the psych on that one; she said take this Trazadone when you want. Just be careful. But I noticed - the temporary lift from that was felt a full 18-24 hours LATER. I have never associated "feeling good" with the T; just the spacy head from when it comes on. Fucking genius; I hate taking it; love having the foresight to take it; to enjoy a "good day" when the pressure is on. Actual results may vary; don't sue me. It's all fun and games, until the drunk guy poops in the catbox. Rock the catbox, rock the catbox...That's some visual though, I can see you're Greek wife throwing plates at you to knock it off... Look Good; Hit Hard. That's her motto. Love the re-title! :rotfl:

no pills. except maybe the occasional ladder (or half a ladder) when my friend can get some, but by occasional i mean like once a month when going out to have a good time
brother in law got hooked on vicodin, my wife had to spend like 3 weeks with him to help him detox, it was hell
i'm lucky i guess some of us have addictive traits and some don't. i smoked enough weed to fill a tractor trailer, when i decided it was time to quit i quit and that was it no drama. i did enough blow to fill a bathtub when i decided it was time to quit i quit, done and no problem. even booze (my last remaining vice, been drinking for 35 years) i can go 60 - 90 days off now and then when I think maybe it's time to drop some pounds or just give my body a break, during those times i feel physically and mentally fine, no huge cravings or sweats or anything
pills on the other hand scare the shit out of me, i have no doubt if one took hold i'd be fucked, so no go

Man, we are a fucked up bunch. I blame Idzik. Fortunately I'm able to turn things off and must not have that addictive gene. Vicodin was a fun dance partner for a little while, but a cooler head prevailed and haven't touched it in a couple years. The world is full of potentially unsafe addictions that can wreck your life....drugs, alcohol, the Jets. But like a battered wife we keep going back for more punishment (no Ray Rice jokes please)
