He looks the part tonight. Glad to hear that. I just turned the game on now, because I was watching the Devils game. The announcers mentioned that he had an injury at the beginning of the year so it's taken him awhile to get back into football shape. That might be why his Kentucky tape was very hit or miss. He looked like an absolute beast his freshman year before he got kicked off the team. It was like watching two different players. He also looks bigger than his listed weight.

It was like watching two different players. He also looks bigger than his listed weight. He definitely still slacks when the play is away from him, but as you saw tonight he has a lot of talent. I also agree that he's bigger than 245lb. I'd bet he's closer to 255lb right now. He's got a nice frame that can probably hold even more weight without losing any athleticism. I think he'd fit well in Bowles hybrid scheme. He's good with his hand in the dirt and standing up.

I agree that wasn't the best tape of Fields, but it's the only one I could find right now. I've watch him a few times and he does run hot and cold, but in the 5th round I'm ok with a boom or bust pick. If Bowles can slap some sense into him I think he could turn into a steal. He also has a lot of experience standing up when rushing the passer. He looks the part tonight. Yup. Best player on the field last night. In the A&M backfield all night long. Unrelated, but did anyone happen to catch Paxton Lynch in his Bowl Game yesterday against Auburn. Maybe it was just one bad game, but I don't get the hype. Poor ball placement, lacked accuracy and made very few NFL caliber throws. I only remember 1 throw that made me think he is an NFL QB--a beautiful deep out where he showed an NFL arm and accuracy. He certainly did not look like a guy who is ready to step in and start in the NFL next season.

But you have to grade that against everything else out there -- plenty of material available (ie. draftbreakdown) I still believe he definitely has NFL starter potential, but I haven't watched enough to be making any bold predictions. Much like Teddy though, I'm not going to let one moment cast a mile long shadow over the person.

My boy Matthews stones Fields, but Fields jumps up and knocks down his 2nd pass of the the 4th on 3rd and long. Returning to school - as per my sources in Louisville

That's probably best for him as long as he keeps his nose clean. Hopefully he's finally getting his life together, because one more incident and he's 100% a UDFA in 2017.
