Might as well go ahead and get an official discussion going.
I think the Jets are definitely letting Ivory walk and Elliott is a VERY realistic option at #20.
Not the same prospect that Gurley was...but still very, very good.
Big, downhill runner with 4.4 speed, excellent vision and is TREMENDOUS in pass protection. Wasn't thrown the ball a ton at OSU but showed soft hands whenever they did throw it to him out of the backfield.
Kid has the build and endurance to be a workhorse at the next level and I think he and Powell would make an excellent 1-2 punch.

Just as long as we DON'T draft Henry, especially at 20. I would be completely livid if Henry becomes a Jet via our first round pick.

He's not my cup of tea. I don't think he's anything special or worth the drafting at 20. I'd rather grab a mid round RB like Alex Collins or sign Lamar Miller. Then possibly draft Dalvin Cook next year.

I am not a big fan of RB in the first -- unless there was a real special back (see Gurley, Todd), but I don't see Elliott as complete a back as Gurley. Though if he was, he probably would not last until 20.
I would prefer to go in another direction with 1st: WR, OL or pass rush. We should still be able to get an RB who can contribute in the 2nd or 3rd round.

I've mentioned him a few times over the last couple of years and I like him but I'm sure you have seen every game from him. Personally from what I've seen I think he can be more than just a third down back.

Actually, I did miss a few games down the stretch this year which was when Michel carried the load -- so I haven't really thought of him as a pro prospect yet. He is a complete back, pass protection, good receiver and he can run between the tackles, so I agree he has potential to be more than a 3rd down back. My biggest concern for him at the next level is durability. I think he played in every game this season, but he really struggled to stay on the field last year. He actually was ahead of Chubb on the depth chart last season and was expected to be the guy when Gurley went down, but he was banged up and missed a few games, allowing Chubb to step up.

Why? All things being equal, I think Henry's the best back in the draft. Took more carries that I would have liked this year, but he's young. Spare me the scheme complaint. Is he a better fit some places more than others? Sure, but he's not scheme dependent IMO. Chan's system is specific enough that wouldn't lose any sleep over them deciding to go Elliot over Henry - but the latter's the real deal. RE: Elliot, I'll be upfront, I got bored with OSU's fucking QB magic show this year and tuned out after week 3, so I haven't watched much of Zeke since last year. I'll work on that. Based on last year's run however, how can you not be OK with him @20? I understand the value of RB in rnds 2-4, but at some point you go -- Alright, this guy is CLEARLY a better football player than everyone left -- and you take him. That range is 20-25 for Elliot IMO. The timing is right. If we were ever going to burn a 1st on a back - this would make sense.

He runs so upright and gets taken down way too easily for his size. He's a total product of Bamas offensive line, galloping through giant holes, even more than their past RB's. All I see is a great college RB that averages 3.5 ypc in the NFL.

If it's between Elliot and Henry give me Elliot 100% of the time. This team desperately needs a COMPLETE back. Henry, IMO is way too one dimensional in the NFL, Elliot has nice hands, is already decent as a blocker and has the ability to stay on the field for all 3 downs. I've never been a big Ivory fan because he brings absolutely zero to the passing game and I think the Jets are really predictable when he is on the field.

Disappointed to hear that K. Hunt (toledo) is opting to return... I really liked him as rnd 2-4 option for us at tailback.
Kinda of surprised. The 2015 class is certainly chalk full of talent at RB, but he had a chance to be one of the top 3 or 4 backs off the board. Next year is not gonna be any easier to separate himself.

I was talking about him for some time. He is a complete back, as usual how I feel will totally depend on who else is on the board at 20. I would not be upset if we took him at 20 most likely. I agree with Rob about Henry for the most part. Paradis luvvvvvvvvvvvsssss him though.
