1st - Leonard Floyd - OLB - Georgia 2nd - Jason Spriggs - OT - Indiana 3rd - Kentrell Brothers - ILB - Mizz 4th - Kenyan Drake - RB - Bama 5th - Bradon Doughty - QB - Western Kentucky 7th - Drew Kaser - P - Texas A&M
OLB has been a huge need for this team for years. (I curse thee Gholston). Our draft position is going to keep us out of the top tier in this regard imo but even with Maulden from last year we have to get an olb.
Time to invest more than a mid to late round pick in the oline. I don't see the oline as much of a mess as others but time to get a guy that can play RT or guard for a few years with hopes he can step to LT in time.
Almost hate to use two of the 1st three picks on LB's but our lbs as a hole really sucked last year and the offense performed light years better than I thought.
Drake has some injury history which is the bad news but he has been behind other Bama backs and not taken a beating for 3 years which is a good thing. His profile sounds like just the kind of guy we need, good receiver, explosive, can take some carries. Not an every down back but I love these lesser known backs who have been behind stars.
Don't think we can get one of the higher rated QB's so we'll roll the dice with a prospect with some promise but lots of Q's as well.
F*** Quigley.

1st) Hate Floyd in the first. Skinny, lanky kid that doesn't fit what Bowles wants in an OLB. 2nd) Spriggs in the second would be a great pick. He's next on my list for evaluation along with Hawkins. 3rd) Don't know much about Brothers. 4th) I hate the Drake. Way too many injuries and I'm sure we could find better value at that point 5th) Either pick a QB high or don't pick one at all. We're already grooming Petty and I don't want to waste anymore resources on a 5th round QB. 7th) What's not to like. Shanks Quigley needs to be replaced pronto.

Not my favorite list of players, but I appreciate the approach. At one point, I thought Floyd made sense but i've been smacked around since. Spriggs is decent, but I don't like value/talent at OT in the 2nd (or so it seems, who the hell knows in January). At this point, I'm so all in on Beavers. Can't wait for his Senior bowl week (or maybe that's a bad thing?). I also see better value in guys like Dahl, Ifedi or even Bisnowaty who i think will develop into a quality tackle. Drake's an acceptable consolation prize for letting Powell go but we still need a workhorse.

This is where i stand at the moment:
1. E. Elliot (RB, OSU).... I've given up hoping M. Jack will fall to us, and Hunt just declared he's returning 2. D. Robinson (WR, Florida) 3. W. Beaver (LT, W. Michigan) 4. B. Kaufusi (OLB, BYU) 5. D. King (OLB, Norfolk State) 7. B. Braunecker (TE, harvard)
I LOVE the idea of double dipping with K & K and OLB... don't really love the early birds in this draft.
Pass rush -- N. Perry (FA via GB) NT -- Raji/Rubin on 1-year rentals since Harrison is a goner.

I've had it up to the teeth with overly big hold the point of attack, OLBs that play the run and never get any pressure.

You can start with someone that weighs more than 220. Noah Spence would be a good OLB to target. He's 6'3 261 and a great athlete. Had he not been kicked out of OSU he probably would have been a 1st rounder. He kept his nose clean at Eastern Kentucky so I have no idea what round he'll go.

I wouldn't touch Spence with a 50 foot pole. He sounds like an absolute moron who will be in trouble and out of the league regardless of how he plays the game.

I thought he had another fuck-up since transferring but I'm not sure. I might be thinking of someone else.

The thing about these guys is they are all remorseful and follows the straight and narrow for a few years, then they get the money and adulation of the pros and it all changes. Ecstasy is a notch up from smoking a few joints. Too risky.

You can start with someone that weighs more than 220. I mean how do you know what he likes? Where did he say it? He don't have too say anything, just look at who he used. The players he used the most at OLB were Coples, Richardson, and Pace. They also drafted Mauldin who is around 260. Floyd weighs 220. Name me one OLB in a 3-4 that is successful at that weight?
