I can see this happening and that Chicago would be quick to do the deal as Jay is fan enemy #1. I can see the Titans doing this because I think they believe they have a QB that needs more time but can be their guy in Mettenberg. The only problem is would they take on that contract as he's owed 15.5M next year? If I were them, I'd wait this out. The Bears are desperate and I doubt they will have many suitors. The Titans can sign his once he's cut. But what is Cutler worth? Would they swap #1's as part of a deal?

The Titans are definitely inept enough as a franchise to do this.

He is a Chicago radio hosts and he does say "sources" tell him, so on its face it is more than rumor or speculation,.... unless his source is the shoe shine guy. I'm sure Chicago would love to trade Cutler to get him off the books, but I doubt there have been ANY talks between the teams as a trade wont occur for months.

No way, the talk of an additional draft pick is Chicago having to offer another pick with Cutler to entice a team to take on his salary.

I can't imagine Cutler's stock in addition to the 15.5M owed would net much in return. My guess is about a 4th rounder. Maybe I'm way off. But everyone knows the organization will be under immense pressure to unload Cutler - their asking price cannot be from a place of leverage.
One thing to me mindful of for fans thinking that teams can simply move on from their starting QB is the tricky little fact that NO ONE is available in either FA or the draft after the top two in Mariota/Winston. Who is your replacement going to be? In Chicago, it very well may be Clausen. Beware of what you ask for. Goodbye 2015 season.

Wouldn't they most likely have to trade their first round pick to the Bears, who would then in turn draft one of Winston or Mariotta?

Cutler prob goes for a 3 and maybe a conditional pick that can turn into a 2. Although Alex Smith went for a 2 and conditional that turned into another 2 rd pick so who knows. All I know is if this scenario played out it would be best case if our new GM wants a QB early.

All I know is if this scenario played out it would be best case if our new GM wants a QB early. The issue is everyone knows that CHI is completely done with Cutler. He is not gonna stay there under any circumstance, esp with his huge contract. A team would be doing the Bears a favor to some degree by taking Cutler. I remember even reading that Chicago may even have to sweeten the deal to dump him somewhere.

If we want a QB in this draft, I still think we're going to have to trade up to No. 2. If the Titans trade for Cutler, I think they'd auction off the No. 2 (assuming they don't move up to No. 1 with a loss Sunday and a Tampa Bay win). If the Jets draft at No. 4, the Titans would be able to trade for Cutler, deal the No. 2 pick to the Jets, only move down two spots and secure another high pick or two.
Why couldn't we just blow the Tennessee game a couple of weeks ago? I knew going into that one that we probably had the better team, but we trailed most of the way and could have easily lost the game and secured the No. 2 pick. That's the only time I ever openly and vocally rooted against the Jets in 42 seasons as a fan. I love the Jets, but somehow I doubt I'll ever look back and say to myself, "Boy, that 16-11 win over the Titans, late in a 12- or 13-loss season, was well worth it. That's what turned everything around for us."
