What program?
Can I do mine but not submit to see how it compares to my CPA?

My old man used to use Quicken, but now swears by TurboTax. I like my accountant.

Anyone do their own online? What program? Can I do mine but not submit to see how it compares to my CPA? Turbo Tax. Seriously? Your question is dumb. Like asking "hey guys, I'm trying to find an internet search engine. I usually use Ask Jeeves and Lycos. Any suggestions?

Turbo Tax. Seriously? Your question is dumb. Like asking "hey guys, I'm trying to find an internet search engine. I usually use Ask Jeeves and Lycos. Any suggestions? No, its not like at all. But thanks for you input. Sorry. It's called Turbo Tax. Millions use it every day. It's really not new news. If you don't know if it's existence, maybe you shouldn't be in charge of figuring out how to do your taxes.

I usually download the H&R Block program and use that.
You'd probably have to spend $50 on a program for small business if you want to do it yourself and see how it compares to your CPA.

Anyone do their own online? What program? Can I do mine but not submit to see how it compares to my CPA? Serious answer: go to turbo tax. Enter all of your info. At the last page there is a submit and pay button. Don't press it. Look at the bottom line. Compare it to what your CPA said. Then decide which is better for you. If the online system is better, go ahead and hit the submit button. If not, hit the red X at the top right corner of the window and close it. Piece of cake.

^^ will turbo tax online let yo do more complex taxes for owning a business, or just a simple 1040 EZ? FFDootz situation may be more than online turbotax will do.

Great idea. Save a few sheckles using Turbo Tax vs. a CPA, but be sure to save the box should you ever get audited. You'll want to bring the little box to the audit to explain all your deductions to the nice IRS agent.
Christ, you chowds really ARE dumb.

Turbo tax comes in different versions. The basic is for the person with simple tax returns and limited deductions. The second one is for more complex tax issues. The top of the line is for small business and complicated tax issues. As always, the price increases depending upon the version used.

Beside, if I come up with a number similar to my guy and was honest...I would save money and wouldn't be afraid of an audit. What difference does it make if Im explaining it vs. him?
