He has seemed to be a bit more condescending and dismissive at times than he was in the past. I do like his top 5 in each position, it's pretty good at looking at upward and downward trending guys over time.

Not many surprises in that list. The only two I can think of is Alexander as the #2 G and Glasgow listed as a G instead of C.

I feel like Mayock used to be the zero bullshit guy. Didn't let one workout or media popularity dictate his rankings/assessment... and while that still remains PARTIALLY true, he's fallen off the wagon here or there. Like in 2012, he had Stephen Hill ranked above Jeffery after the combine... I get that GMs may have to make decisions about character issues we're not privy too, but as far as lists from draft pundits go, you got go with what's on tape...
I recognize i'm cherry picking and some will to accuse me of 20/20 hindsight, but I still have expectations about people like mayock, or Jeremiah, who slave away all day on college tape and still rate M. Ball as the second best RB in his class... but maybe that's my fault for expecting them to be flawless.

They're only human so of course you will see differing opinions. Picture being in the Jets warroom for say, their third round pick. Between all the scouts and GM there is no possible way they would all want the same guy. I'd even wager some would absolutely hate a player and another might like said player.
I don't have expectations for any of them, I'd rather do my own work. And when we inevitably draft someone I've never heard of, first thing I'll do is look for some tape rather than read some generic scouting report. Ever notice how similar they are? Hell, we even had that Kerry Rhodes moron that used to post here that was writing for CBS I believe. Kid was awful.

I know, you're probably right. Just once in a while, there's that odd prospect where you're like - ugh cmon man, you know better. Maybe if these lists varied a bit more, it wouldn't be so bad. Like don't you think it's kind of funny the way Wentz flew up 75% QB pundit boards to #1 about a week ago?

Like don't you think it's kind of funny the way Wentz flew up 75% QB pundit boards to #1 about a week ago? I'll bet he was already there when it came to teams scouting departments. Like I said, most of these guys just pump out generic bullshit that the next one picks up and rolls with. Mayock used to be the voice from the outside, but after that initial list and what he has done the last few years he's falling into the same category. Maybe we need more from the guy that said Nassib was the best QB and player in the draft a few years back.

Initially I didn't have Wentz rated highly because I didn't really pay close attention to what he was doing . After listening to all the hype, I took a closer look and that's when I moved him up . I still think Cook is the best QB in this draft .

The Wentz hype train is beyond out of control. Originally, I was really excited about getting him in round 2, then I was ok with picking him at 20, but top 5? I'll pass.

I think he posted his TE rankings and all their comparisons made ZERO fucking sense. This draft is a hard one for me to predict. Usually you can guess how high players will go, but this one is a crapshoot. There are quite a players that I'd take in the 1st round that most are predicting to go in the late 2nd early 3rd round. I wish I could post more here, but I'm in the process of moving again.

I still think Cook is the best QB in this draft . QBs with sub 60% completion rates rarely succeed in the NFL. I know Wentz is the flavor of the month right now, but I still have Goff as my top rated QB. I hope the Browns don't take either of them, because they'll ruin them.

At the very least Mac can make a draft day trade.

I remember he was on the verge of plagiarizing several writers for his souped up generically mixed articles and then needed help with his grammar. I remember SEC giving him a hard time and many of us calling him out......ah good times. There are message boards out there that actually used his write-up for back and forth banter and that cracks me up. Throw out a few of those names that you like.....I loved the Vadal Alexander pick.
